I actually do use 2 and I hate that I have to do it. Irritates me every time I get in the car. But it's not just me, even though it feels that way, lol. https://www.wbaltv.com/article/balti...hefts/60943308

Yikes! Specifically targeting the Infiniti G? That's crazy.

Sorry you're going through this. When I said "use two clubs", I was just spit-balling ideas. Hope it continues to work out for you.

Mechanically picking your door lock? I didn't know that could happen.

Yup. All 3 times. The lock cost over $200. Then I had to pay $65 to the locksmith to rekey it to my existing keys, then $180 for labor. My alarm only went off 1 of those times.

Damn thing is not only handsome, but heavy and solid as it feels like i could take it into a war against dragons. Pretty easy to use as well.

Amazon has this model for a decent price if anyone else is interested in a little additional piece of mind. Note that the smallest version offered (also the least expensive) works fine in our cars.
Thanks for sharing this info and the C&D link. I just purchased their recommended solution.

It's a quality piece. I've had to use it a few times over the past couple of weeks.

New one on Reddit, be careful out there.
Get your killswitches and other deterrents as soon as you can, especially if you live in the hot spots. I heard Baltimore is ramping up infiniti thefts, so its not just a CA thing.

I saw that earlier today. Shame. At a min, insurance companies will begin dropping us, similar to what they are doing with Kia owners.

I found out a tad bit too late!

So I now own my son’s 2013 sedan G37, thanks to these scum aka thieves. They broke sunroof climber their malnutrition butts through there and cloned the key within 30-40 seconds. The sunroof is not tied in the the alarm from factory. We found car 25 miles away thanks to a AirTag. But they stole number, fenders, intakes, taillights and skirts. They couldn’t take wheels cause they drove it slammed to the floor due to airbags my son had on the car. They must have had an iPhone and at some point realized the AirTag.

They use a mechanic’s diagnostic tablet and a new fob. Literally seconds is all they need. But these fools are casing residential areas and or at car meets.

I’ve installed 5 kill switches… happy hunting suckers! There’s more to the 5 but all I can really say and laugh on this here forum.

I see on the reddit posting r/G37 or r/infiniti a lot of posting of infinti/ Nissan Z getting stolen and abused on the streets, so far the posting I've seen are mostly in California. However it's a matter of time before this speads over the county. I see these kinda posting more and more these days and its kinda worries me out here in the West.

here an an example
https://www.reddit.com/r/G37/comment...destroyed_and/
https://www.reddit.com/r/G37/comment..._a_killswitch/
https://www.reddit.com/r/G37/comment..._a_killswitch/
https://www.reddit.com/r/G37/comment..._after_a_well/

I dont know how our cars are getting stolen but some posting say that that there an aftermarket software that allows people to clone our keys or something of that matter.
There was a video posted where some kid broke the sunroof and got inside.

This reminds me of the time when Nissan Maxima 2002/2003 headlight were getting stolen with minutes, This worries me, people are saying install a "Kill switch" but i don't how that would help

Any thoughts

Thanks
J

Westcoast, Southern California. They have been taking these cars for street takeovers and abusing the crap out of them. That’s why G35/G37 prices are so low. You still have the thieves stealing for a quick buck. Freakin LOSERS!!

BUT it opened my eyes up to how vulnerable our cars are to theft (most prevalent in California, but def reaches to the east coast).

Lit a fire under me, and now I have two electronic locks (killswitches) and one mechanical one on my car at all times. For me, this was minimum to feel at ease

Impossible to steal? No, but it’d be very difficult/time-consuming to configure out how to move my car.
