What to do with g37?

I have a 2013 g37 awd that is at 240,000km. I put a good amount of money into fixing the G and it runs perfectly but the mileage is high. I want to keep this car for at least 7 more years.

I have a lot of new parts that I fixed like exhaust, battery, control arms, coolant system, power steering. I also added a few small visual mods.

What would you do if you wanted to keep a G with high mileage?

149,129 miles for those of us in the US.

-Clean Throttle Bodies
-Replace PCV Valves
-Replace Plugs
-Drain and Fill for the transmission (most important)
-Front and Rear Diff drain and fill
-Drive Belt
-K&N drop-ins with silicon intake tubes
-Add a sub/amp that taps off the low level inputs to the Bose amp thats behind the rear seat. A company called OWC now makes a kit for this, and it really fills out the sound of the "Studio on Wheels" OEM setup.
-Front OEM Lip, Rear OEM Spoiler, Midnight OEM Grill, Paint Matched roof spoiler
-Tail as turn rear blinkers as they provide a more modern look and its an easy mod
-Many replace the rear swaybar on the AWD model with one from a RWD model as that's a simple upgrade which helps induce more oversteer (which is good, too much understeer is FWD-like)

I'm just getting started :-)

Just some general maintenance and you should be fine for a long time. I've seen a few with 300,000 miles on them still running strong. Since you have the 2013, the galley gasket SHOULD be fine but having an oil pressure check done wouldn't be a bad idea. Cleaning the throttle bodies and upper manifold is pretty much free and a good thing to do. Change out fluids and the belt like socketz said. Also, get the turn-as-tail plug-ins!!!!

Source a low mile engine, do the oil galley gaskets, and keep it as a spare.
When the time comes to rebuild yours, you'll have the swap at ready.

Transfer case is very important, I would give it the Matic J fluid which you can still get. Was replaced by Matic S. The front and rear differential are important too as is the transmission.

I had the transfer case go bad on my G from the previous owner not doing regular fluid changes on it.

I would recommend funny enough the Mishimoto catch can for VQ37VHR as it keeps the butterfly valves on the throttle bodies very clean.

Since you're listing it in KM's, I suppose you're in Canada as well. Keep a close eye on the Rear Subframe! I seen a few of those (including mine) break off b/c of the crappy rust we get.. cost a pretty penny to replace. Keep the undercarriage clean and well rust proofed!

I have a 2009 G37 XS Sedan with 265,000km. Bought it used 3 years ago with 200,000km, and aside from the Rear subframe.. its been just wear n tear items (Leaving the Gallery Gaskets alone for now... knock on wood***)

I have done the following:
- Synthetic Oil Changes every 8000km. Does not burn any oil in between
- Transmission, Transfer Case, Diff fluids every 60,000km
- Coolant flush when I first bought the car
- Rear Coolant Hose coupler/ Bleeder Port swap (**VERY IMPORTANT). Swapped the OEM Plastic Coupler with a Z1 Motorsports metal one. Coupler was brittle and shattered in my hands when I replaced it. Could have left me stranded on the side of the road.
- Front Left Wheel bearing replaced @ 215,000km
- Front Right wheel bearing going out @ 260,000km

Aside from that, its a great car for what it is. At that mileage on ****ty Toronto, ON roads, it's done well. And... it still pulls like a freight train!

It won't be a trouble free car. But I say its still reliable

2013 sedan here, still under 50k miles but planning to replace that heater hose coupler over the holidays. Got scared stiff seeing a video where the OEM plastic coupler basically disintegrates while being removed. Not trying to see when that’ll happen while driving
