@socketz67 I've been calling fivestarttransmissions non -stop since wednesday. No one is answering the phone or replying back to emails. I was able to connect to some one at fivestartransmissions once on Wednesday morning. She said she is going to send me the invoice and can ship it out the same day. But after that they have gone MIA. I'm not sure what is wrong with them.

Yikes. This isn't good. Did you find them on eBay? I recall reading something on the site about contacting them through eBay.

Aftermarket companies like SouthBay Autoworkz and AutoKits X are similar. Impossible to reach.

@socketz67 Nope, I had no luck finding them on e-bay.when I search for RE07. their listing does not show up!
I mean, how can I rely on their parts when they are not even picking up the phone or replying to emails from last 4 days!

I agree. The search continues. The community has to find an answer to this issue as it is coming up more often as the platform ages.

@idyllic420 what about this seller on eBay as they have sold almost 100 of these so far: https://www.ebay.com/itm/115426970971?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=6qDC2rotQ6C&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=iBNEgDAWQK S&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Based on my understanding, the valve bodies are interchangeable between the Q and G versions of the same transmission.

@IPT_Trans or @BULL can confirm what I have read.

seems that this seller is also in Florida. When I spoke with him, John at IPT mentioned that he knew a guy in Florida that restores valve bodies. I wonder if one of these sellers is that individual?

799 and requires programming. Will still have to go dealer to get it fixed. Better off spending few hundred more and get peace of mind

You're in luck John from IPT Performace Transmissions has created a profile. Wouldn't surprise if he might have an extra or could help you with your situation.

Hi, the recommendation that I made was an industry colleague that I know and he's most assuredly a real shop, not some guy in a garage and, at least to my knowledge, he's not an eBay seller.

His info can be found here: https://sunbeltvalvebodies.com/ his name is Fabien but I believe that his son is running their customer service at this point.

@IPT_Trans

Thank you. I wish that they were fixable.
As one can imagine, I get a TON of calls for them.

Something important to note, I do not try to swap theses things, I don only exact year, make, model, trim for the same.
Interchange is bad and numbers on the TCM's are meaningless because the number can be the same but the software written to them differs.

I have have not changed this seal in the 10+ transmissions I've done.

Now, the job is somewhat of a simple but messy one. A replacement unit, gasket and fluid should be the only needed parts in this process.

If you wanted cheaper you could go used but being that they do fail over time you might have to sacrifice the warranty the $600 one would offer.

At the moment I'm running a recycled transmission that had a valve body failure- actually internal speed sensor code. When I took the old valve body out it had a bit of metal all around the speed sensor area and valve body electronics.

I threw my valve body in the new transmission and moved on with life. For those with speed sensor/valve body issues, this issue is coming from the speed sensor magnet covered in metal, cannot give an accurate reading and sends the fault putting you in limp mode.

If you have not killed the transmission, a new valve body and closer intervals of fluid changes should buy you a couple of years.
this is literally what happened to me. thought it was the speed sensor turns out it was the valve body. i was so scared at first when it went into limp mode. lol thought it was something way worse.

@IPT_Trans , where do you manage to source them from where you can ensure you get the exact same one? I’m on my 3rd VB/TCM replacement on my 2013 G37 now and at 192k miles on it this is the only issue I’ve had with it since new! Trying to track down a working hard VB for it now but dang it’s hard to find a seller where you can confirm specific model needed. Everyone and their grandmother says that the Q’s work but they don’t!!

Would simply replacing the TCM alone be sufficient or does the valve body need to be replaced as well?… in your experience? The error code indicates communication issue in these cases which would point to TCM alone as being the issue?

The problem is 100% tcm, however, they are typically not sold without the valve body itself as well.
