Rattling rear deck bose grille

I have removed the bose sub from the rear deck and the subs in my trunk are rattling the grille. It doesn't seem like something I can just pop off, so it probably will involve disassembling a bunch of stuff, which I don't want to do. Does anyone have creative ideas on how to stop the rattle? It seems to stop rattling when I press on the grille with my hand.

It looks like it's clipped in? I can't really tell as it shows "push on nut's" below it.

I don't know how it works but I tugged on it and it's very flush and secure. I don't think it's meant to be ripped off and I don't want to break anything.

Is the speaker grill "rattling" on the parcel shelf or is the grill itself the source of the rattle. In other words, while music is playing, if yo lightly press your finger down on the center of the grill, does the rattle cease? Just thinking out loud...

Yeah on Friday when I pressed on it that's what I recall happening.

I popped the clips and removed the cover to the trunk lid and put some eggcrate foam behind it. Then just put the cover back on the trunk lid. It still rattles a bit but less than before.

hopefully that helps you.

So you basically reduced the amount of space between the grille and the deck, right?

I didn't touch the bose grille. I just put that foam in between that trunk/trunklid liner and it reduced the rattles created by my sub.

Maybe a low-profile foam weather stripping around the rim of the back of the bose grille will help.
