Better seats

Anyone have any recommendations for seats tnat hold you in better? I love taking corners hard and oem seats aren't particularly good for keeping me in place when I'm doing that. I don't know if the sport seats would be any better, i do like red ipl seats but if they aren't going to be much better I'll save my money for something else.

I have a Sedan 6MT, the sports seats' bolstering does perfectly for spirited street driving. I would find a friend who has one and ride with them.

Good luck,

Rick

The sport seats are the best part of the sport appearance package on the AWD xS.

Great support, but lousy quality leather.

I would have loved an xs, mostly for the big brakes. Sadly there wasn't any within my price range at the time of purchase. A few days after i bought mine there were 4 i could afford. Thats how it goes. Do coupe seats fit in a sedan?

The only Sedans with the Akebono BBK was the 6MT, and the RWD Journey with the Sport Package. FYI

I don't think so, the seats are very different. But IDK for sure... good question.

From various threads on here, the Coupe seats will fit the sedan just fine. Only potential issues are the electrics (seat memory, heat).

I never realized the xs sedans didn't have the bbk. I looked at a few xs coupes that had them and assumed the sedan xs got the same. I was looking on ebay earlier and it seems the red ipl seats are pretty rare. The anniversary sedan came with red seats too but i think I'll need the sport coupe seats to fit my needs better.

I went down that path long ago and I have a Coupe. You will have better luck winning the lottery than finding a decent pair of red IPL seats. What few come up for sale are either outrageously priced (the "IPL tax") or beat all to hell and still ridiculously overpriced.

If you are vigilant enough you might come across a set but even then, unless you are able to do the full red interior, just having the front seats red and the rest (?) the interior might look awkward/ out of place. That may/ not be a issue for you, IDK.

Yes, the xS Coupe is really a nicely equipped package. I often think if I lost my car for whatever reason, then the xS Coupe would be a fine replacement, 7AT notwithstanding.

If i did find a set of red ipl seats I'd be tempted to find red rear sedan seats and switch them too. I will say i like the black interior better than the tan on my other g37x. Xs coupe would have been my first choice, on the other hand the sedan is probably a little cheaper on insurance and still doesn't look bad.

The Akebono BBK did actually come on the G37XS Coupe, which is a moon rock like the IPL.

Looked on car gurus just for fun. 6 ipl coupes for sale in the country, 5 ipl convertibles, no xs coupes. 89 non sport x coupes. There's obviously other car sites and Facebook market place that wasn't included but still no xs coupes at all surprised me.

Guess the IPL is a little common hahah, I saw a 2013 G37 XS Coupe for sale a week ago with 113K miles on it.

$16k for a fairly rare care doesn't seem too bad, 113k miles is a little high for the price but not bad considering the price of s2000s and mk4 supras.

Probably could talk them down or it will go down in price. I think the price is high as well, but given it's not very common guess it comes with it. It will need work that is for sure.

Don't forget, there is the 2014-2015 Q60 IPL (basically a G37 Coupe / Convertible)
