Selling Advice
Hello everyone.
I hope everyone has been well during the pandemic. I am looking for advice on the best way to sell my 2011 G37s with ~95k miles on it. The car is in decent shape appearance wise (exterior and interior) but drives perfectly fine. I kept up with my daily maintenance with oil changes, engine flush, etc. I want to sell it to a dealer or Carmax/Carvana.
As mentioned, the exterior and interior isn't in amazing shape but it isn't trashed. Therefore, I am thinking I will get around ~$8,000-$9,000 from Carmax / Carvana.
My problem is that the car is completely stock EXCEPT a Motordyne E370 Exhaust. This exhaust now goes for ~$2,200 new so I am not sure if I should just sell it with the exhaust on (potentially get less money since the car is technically "modified") or try and swap it for a stock exhaust + cash. Or do you think since the exhaust is actually high quality, will Carmax / Carvana not reduce the quote by a lot? What do you guys think?
And if anyone is wondering what car I am looking at for my new daily after owning my G37s since 2015, I am going towards a BMW M340i. The new B58 engines seem to be bulletproof and mod friendly.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Mash the accelerator pedal on all test drives and feel your back being pushed into the drivers seat when driving an EV. Just like sitting on a plane at take off.
Lots of saving on gasoline, oil changes, maintenance and the Tesla's are a fun car to drive. I leave home every morning with a 90% charge and a 280 mile range. It charges every night in my garage and is 70 degrees when I get in every morning. Here in NJ there is no state sales tax on EV's and no state inspection on 0 emission vehicles. NJ PSE&G gave me a $1500 rebate for the charger installation. I think California is a EV friendly state?
Good luck with your decision
FWIW prior to making a decision on a BMW I would advise you to test drive a Tesla model S and a Tesla Model Y.

I will definitely go test drive one as the closet Tesla dealer is literally 15 minutes away. The only other issue is that every other car in my area (especially California) is a Tesla. I guess that really isn't an issue since it means it's a great car. Appreciate the advice.
I actually have looked at a few Teslas in the last year, especially after they reduced the price again. The problem at the moment for me is that I do not have a garage to install my own at-home charger, meaning I would have to use the near-by supercharger every time. This may not be a huge issue, but I did read that this can cause accelerated battery degradation versus using the standard charger at home. I also read that even though Teslas are the most popular EVs, they still deal with poor manufacturing / QC issues straight from factory. This can be mismatched paint jobs, fender alignments, etc. But they also have great customer service I think so I guess it evens out?

Look for high power EV chargers from your local utility. When in Florida I charge every couple of days from a 60% SOC to 90%. I found it is not a big deal to not have a charger at our condo. How many people do you see waiting in line for gas at Costco for 20 minutes to save 10c a gallon?
Good luck with whatever is your choice.
