you guys like it? also, is your car lowered? My biggest concern was the car being lower, the amount of scraping i do with the plastic one, the metal one is probably 100x worse, which it making me think its probably not worth the money
I have the TBW one and I like it. I don't scrape it, and while I am lowered I am on 20's. A friend of mine had one but it ripped off too many times and he gave up and runs without it now. So I guess it depends on how low you are / where you drive.
my neck of the woods its very bumpy, lots of construction, lots of dips and speed bumps, and its not even a city :P
probably best I dont unless I get up to a decent ride height
I've got the TBW too. Mine is gloss black, and it's a good looking piece for the rare times you actually see it. Front end is lowered on Swift Springs, and I've never scraped it, AFAIK. I've had it for 3 years now, and maybe 7K miles. It was $200 when I bought it.
Now that I've got an actual access panel for the oil drain, and using the Fumoto drain plug, oil changes are almost effortless.
(not all OEM shrouds have an access panel, some do, some don't)

i think if I raise my car back up just enough it shouldnt scrape as often / at all
im not slammed, im just maybe about an inch tucked in the fenderwell on stock wheels
Hi Bread. Take a look at my review found at the end of this thread: https://www.myg37.com/forums/body-in...dershroud.html
In summary, with stock sport 18” wheels, you lose some clearance based on the sharp right angles at the edges on both sides (see the third picture). If those edges were more graduated/rounded, the clearance would likely exceed that of the oem undershroud as it fits perfectly and the service door makes oil changes a breeze. It may also be my imagination, but I’d swear it makes the front of the car more rigid.

I have the Z1 skid plate. I really like it, the service panel is awesome. I'm lowered on BC and can barley fit my hand between the fender and tire with 18s. I've scraped it a few times, it holds up to the scrapes pretty well, It's very sturdy. I also hit a lot of ice chunks, snow and gravel with it so I kind of need one that's not plastic. Lol

I have the Z1, for maybe 6 months now. I'm lowered an inch on 19's. I think I have more clearance because the plastic cover was always sagging. I always scrubbed on the speed bumps at my kids daycare but not any more.
It seems that the lowest point on the car is the flange that connects the Y-Pipe to the Mid-Pipe. That spot always touches on those really wide speed bumps. One thing I really like about the aluminum undershroud as it makes it easy to spot leaks and find tools/bolts that fall as its very reflective.
I have the ZSpeed, and am currently on 370Z Nismo springs so lowered maybe 1"... no issue scraping. If I scrape anything it is the bottom edge of the front bumper cover going in and out of the driveway, but approaching at an angle helps with that.
I have the TBW. Lowered 1.2", it actually saved my oil pan from being smashed twice now. I had to hammer it back into shape, but I'd rather do that than lose oil while driving. This is more of a peace of mind investment than it is a cosmetic one.
I have the tsw one in black. Fitment was a pain in the *** but my u nut mounting holes on the bumper and plastic trim around there are not in great shape. Its taken a beating and held up fine, scraped it pretty bad a few times too. I'm on swift springs and 265/35s which lowered it a little more. I don't scrape unless its a steep incline like a driveway or we have a few places where the middle of the road is higher from the main tire path wearing down so much. Funny, we had a road like that near where i work and 2 weeks after i started complaining about it they repaved it.
