2010 G37x S daytime running lights
Hi all, Im new here to the forum, but belong to many other forums. I just bought my son a 2010 G37xS and was wondering if I missing something on the knowledge of "daytime running lamps" on this model year. Ive done a search and mostly come up with members doing fog light mod. Does the 2010 have DRL's? I thought the little round dots around the hid housing was the DRL's? Any help is appreciated. I just want to know if they are supposed to have DRL or not for this model year. Thanks in advance!!!!
Most US versions of the G37 did not come with DRL's. In Canada they are mandatory. Pre-2010 models utilized the fog lamps (which were integrated into the main headlamp housing) as the DRL's. The 2010 facelift moved the fog lamps to the lower bumper. This move required the HID lamps to serve both functions: DRL and main forward lighting. The little "dots" around the perimeter of the projector shroud do nothing.
Thank you for the reply!!! So, with the headlight stalk in the “auto” position during the daylight, there should be no lights on in the headlamp assembly until night time where the ligjt sensor would detect enough darkness for the headlights to come on automatically, correct?
