Engine Failure

Hello.
2010 Infiniti G37X AWD sedan. 180,000km.

While driving to work today: during acceleration I noticed sudden loss of power, the car would not rev above 2500 and moments later the engine shut off. I heard a noise from underneath as if I was draging a cardboard box.

I came out of the car looked under it, did not see anything. Tried to start the car again and nothing, no cranking, just some clicking noise.

Poped the hood, checked oil level, battery connectors. My initial thought was, perhaps the alternator/battery died. The dashlights are on. I tried to boost it with no luck. Starter wont crank, just a single click.

Towed it to a local shop nearby. Mechanic called this evening, saying that he tried to turn the engine over by hand and it's seized.

This car has been my daily driver for the past 8 years with almost no issues.

Guys, any thoughts on this? Could it be something else?

Perhaps someone can recommend a shop in GTA(Vaughan)? What would a typical engine replacement cost engine+labour?

Thank You.
Steve
