interior heat insulation?

so i ended up taking out the carpet to clean everything because my sun roof drain was leaking, got water under the carpets. im going to end up trying to find a new carpet because the one i have is kinda gross i dont think there is any saving it. Anyway i was idling in a drive through and noticed my feet were getting hot asf, felt the floor boards and they were coookin. i have a pair of FI high flow cats which dont have the heat shielding the factory cats have and would be located right about under my pedals. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with something like this https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/f...rd-heat-shield or this https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/hp-stealth-shield to put on the floorboards so i dont melt or get sticky *** sound insulation on the bottom of my shoes until i can get a new carpet. Putting the old one back in isnt really an option that **** smells greeeat. thanks in advance

edit: maybe put some of the firewall insulation down there

I ended up with some thick luxury walmart towels. They helped tremendously with noise/sound and heat.

You can wash the towels later before the new carpet.

A thick towel will work however for the best fitment you'll need to cut holes in them. Cheapest solution you can get for this problem. I believe a second towel will fit but only on the front side foot areas since it start to get too thick by the seat holes.

A towel will also fit under the rear seat.

there was a layer of insulation under the rear seat similar to the stuff that lines the firewall, I layed that down on the driver floorboard it works like a charm other than sliding around when I get in and out

might cut a piece of abs so it’s even
