There are bushings all over Amazon which look like this:

But the ones in the back-most part of the Sedan where the exhaust hangers go into have only 1 hole and are shaped closer to a T than an oval (or circle). My SOHO exhaust has a rattling issue and I thought it was resolved by putting some shims under the bushings between the bushings and the metal box that goes around them, but one shim fell out and the other seems to be on it's way. I'm hoping if I can get a bushing that is taller in terms of where the hole is (or maybe a new factory one?) that I can resolve the rattling issue long-term.

I found this: https://www.discountinfinitiparts.co...unt-20651cd00a which the website claims fits my vehicle, but it looks nothing like the ones already on it. Also, I found this part number off Z1's website where they're selling it for about the same price. They have another one that looks identical but they say it's for the Sedan, with a part number thta corresponds to a totally different exhaust part and they are selling it for 4x the price of this bushing. Interesting.

Even if the one I linked above isn't exactly the same, it may work -- but I don't know if it will be too short to actually raise the exhaust up enough to stop the rattling. Maybe the rattling isn't from the exhaust not being raised enough, but simply from the bushing not being tight enough and when I add a shim it tightens u the bushing, stopping the rattling. I'm not really sure.

 

I think you’re looking for part number 20651-7W00A. Just had both of mine replaced this past weekend. As they were rotted out and broken after I installed my Q300 cbe. Here is the picture of mine. You can see the part right above the spray bottle to the left.

 

So it's the entire metal thing? That explains a lot. I was looking just for the soft material that the actual steel bar goes into. When I was down there I briefly tried to see if it would budge so I can remove it and noticed it didn't seem likely.

 

Yup! Mine were so rotted from 10 years of salt the bolts broke off and I had to get them welded on. Hopefully I never have to take it back off lol.

lol... Do you know if it's a known issue that these go bad and cause exhaust rattle? I didn't have the issue with the stillen catback but when i switched i had it.

 

That's a rubber exhaust hangerr. I literally just purchased a pair to install this weekend in hopes of lowering my exhaust a bit so it doesn't come into contact with my diffuser. I went with this 3-hole that allows it to hang lower than the OEM hanger.

 

do you have a picture of it installed? It's much different than the stock setup. I don't see how it would even hang there since the stock one only has 1 hole and is held up by the metal bracket.

 

I was planning to install them this weekend, but realized now that I ordered the incorrect rubber hangers. Will be returning those and lowering it by inserting washers instead.

Did the rattling improve when you added the shims to wedge the hanger within the metal bracket? I personally don't think it's related to that hanger, but I was using felt pads to wedge in those areas to lower the muffler tips a bit more as a quick-fix. The felt pads stay in place really well so you may want to look into those to help diagnose that rattle or just a temp-fix. These are the pads I'm referring to -

 

The rattling went away (the worst of it, there's another intermittent rattle from the middle of the exhaust somewhere that isn't too bad and I don't know how to fix it) completely. The rattle at the back goes away when I lift the exhaust tip and that rattle is awful. That's why I decided to put shims and yes it totally removes it. The problem is that one shim fell out and I think the other one was going to eventually too. I already bought some plastic shims and grip tape so I'm not gonna go buy felt tape now too. The other guy in this thread already linked the replacement part and I think that one will work but I was just wanting him to confirm if possible if this is a known issue. If it IS a known issue the part should probably fix it. If it ISN'T I have a feeling I'll have the same issue after spending al that money ($80-100) on the new parts.

I'm shocked of all the issues I'm having with the SOHO catback.. and their support was pretty meh.. they take forever to reply and make you jump through hoops contacting them over and over because they do not respond to you. They pass your question around to something like 4 people, including Nick and eventually just say you're on your own.

The exhaust tips were sticking out an uneven amount, the exhaust was too close to the sway bar + the rattles at the muffler and mid area.. All I was asking was about the tips by the end because it was so hard to get them to respond and by the time I got anywhere I already had the shims implemented. I shouldn't need to spend all this additional time and effort on the exhaust after paying for an exhaust made specifically for the car by enthusiasts of the car.

Another user on the forum saw my other post about the SOHO exhaust and contacted me stating they also have the rattling issues that I have and asking for guidance. If it weren't for the fabrication issues and lack of support I would be very satisfied and buy from them in the future.. but because of primarily their lack of support after I spent $1500 or so I won't be supporting them in the future.

 

It could. I Replaced mine due to fitment issues with the tips. You just get the car on stands/lift and have someone rev it so you can check where the rattle is coming from.

 

Well I know for a fact there is a rattle resolved in this area because I can hear it at idle and if I lift on the exhaust tip it goes away. Once I put the shims between the metal bracket and the rubber bushing it lifted the exhaust and the rattle went away.

 

Dope, you should be able buy the PN I listed earlier. The rubber Y piece is fused to the metal bracket.

 

That's right. I had those OM bracket hangers replaced two years ago when I asked the shop to tweak the alignment of my exhaust because it was starting to droop.

Can't remember the exact cost, but I do remember being surprised that they cost so much.
