The how much is my Sedan worth discussion thread

Over in another thread, 2.2Lude casually said, "Make me a high enough (offer) and you can have it."

Made me wonder, whatever "high enough" is, it's predicated on a fair value. So what would his car be worth today, February, 2022.

Or someone else's car, or my car even, doesn't matter. Get in line, LOL Lay out the specs, miles, repairs and mods you think add to the value, and let people offer opinions.

But do it with a thick skin, or you're outta here. Nothing personal.

Lol oh this should be good.

I’ll throw up my full “build” specs later today otherwise my build thread is mostly up to date.

Here are a few pictures in the meantime.

The only offers that matter are from potential buyers. How do you separate potential buyers from tire kickers?

I’m going to say you can’t. At least not here, which I don’t think is the point. It’s just for kicks and giggles while trying to gauge G enthusiasts value of the cars.

Agreed though the only offers that matter are the ones from actual buyers, the rest will likely just be “I can get such and such for way cheaper here or there”.

Should be amusing nonetheless.

In this guy's case, I think fair value gets a boost for having such a freakishly clean car.

This thread could crash & burn... or it could be fun.

Exactly. You get it. Let's see what happens.

Yep, for now. Let's see what happens or not, then we can create a Coupe version.

The issue that I keep seeing are:
Under hood stock is almost the same as aftermarket in resell value.
Suspension components are not so detrimental as long as the car rides good.
Wheels usually do "OK" as long as they look good but like the underhood components sometimes is a hit or miss with adding value
Tuning can or wont add value.
MT is the real underdog and the main contender of pricing.

I say $11k - $15k with what I keep seeing. Trying to seek more than this will have you returning certain parts to stock. Though the demand skyrocketed for these cars it came from used dealer prices which tuners piggybacked on.
I may be a bit off on the max but again after a certain amount folks that have this money dont want to deal with ANY problems.

You talking about 2.2Lude's car? IDK his mileage, but there's a strong mod list there.

Remember 4DRZ? Last Fall, his car went on Cars & Bids for somewhere north of $20k.

From what I see on the Facebook marketplace / autotrader, you can ask 15-18k for your car.

For comparison according to CarFax, my rebuilt 2013 with ~49k miles is worth $12k.

Apparently my 131,000 mile car I traded in for $7200 with a front lip covering a hole, dented right side skirt, rusty sub-frame, test pipes, Invidia Exhaust, aftermarket HIDs and LEDs all over, lowering springs with excessive front negative camber, and bald winter tires is worth $16k to this dealer

I will almost pay someone to NOT buy this.

I’d say you could get $17k without too much hassle.

1st off, GREAT thread idea @Rochester.

As my sig notes, I have lots of ideas for mods, but the personal time/money side is what holds me back. That being said, it has allowed me to slowly build my car to my liking while staying what I see as, subtle stock.

2013 G37x 150k miles bought from member in Ohio in Jan/2017 w/85k miles on it then for $16k.

-4DRZ's custom drilled out mitsubishi wheels from his G37 (they became my summer wheels, they were his winter)
-RSB from a coupe member on here to switch out the pencil thin OEM.
-4DSC stickers (these add at least 10hp each).
-50% tint all the way around (yes windshield too, no it doesn't affect sight at night)
-F.I. RHFC bought from a member on here.
-LED inside lights from member
-Diode Dynamics taillights plug (so underrated)
-Brand new matching 5k fogs/headlight bulbs.
-Bell Raceworks rear diff brace
-Washed weekly at least (still not as clean as 2,.2 lude's)
-(Ark Grip exhaust coming down the pipeline soon)

Not that I would ever let mine go now (especially after buying an exhaust for it), but I have a couple numbers in mind for potential sells.
BC (before Covid)- $12k maybe?
AC (after Covid w/current high prices)- $14k AT LEAST.

**Would consider trade+cash for same/newer M56x/M37x/newer models of those

(before tint)
