Yesterday, someone tried to steal my front license plate. I had it installed in the towhook part of the bumper reinforcement bar with a tow hook adapter. They tried to rip it off and messed up all the threads, now, neither the towhook or adapter fit snug. Is my only option a new (or used) bumper reinforcement bar? Car is a 2011 G37S Sedan

 

You could try to retap it but it’s probably smarter to just replace the bar. It’s very easy to R&R, just takes 4 bolts once the bumper is off.
