In a couple months time, I'll be on my 10 year anniversary with this car, which is the longest time I've owned any car ever.

Working at home, getting old, the pandemic, etc., all these things make it a low-mileage car at just under 50,000 miles. It's modified exactly how I like it, and my mod plans have slipped to a crawl, if not an outright stop. Car runs truly great, and is still a joy to drive. The only thing that worries me is the inevitable Gallery Gasket failure, or a second CSC failure, but there's no sense losing sleep over it. Point is, I'm keeping my G for at least 3 more years, until the kids are both done with college, and I retire... one, the other or both, I don't know.

So... any other long-haulers here? How long and how much longer? Who else is in the club?

 

07 purchased brand new, 14 years ago. Almost 155k. It still runs fine & is the daily. I WAS starting to consider a new car pre-pandemic, but now with working at home I almost never drive. (2,000 miles since the end of 2019, down from 120 miles a day).

 

2013 at 122k miles. Minus a supercharger or soho top turbo system, I'm tapped out I think on mods for the car (realistically). Driven the car since Feb 2015 with 32k miles. Loved every minute.

 

Very similar here, bought a 2008 as a lease return in 2011. Now 10 years old with 135K on the odometer. Used to put almost 200 miles a day but after moving from the Bay area, and with the pandemic, I'm lucky to put 200 a month on it. Only normal maintenance items with the exception of the AC compressor so I suspect it'll last another 10 years or so at this rate. Don't get me wrong, I love me some new car (well newer, I've never bought a new car in my entire life; except for the wife) but there's something so intoxicating about no car payment

If wonder if there's any of the OG crew still here, still with their car? That's not me, I'm second Gen OG maybe. The forum was firmly established and active long before I joined in 2010.

 

I bought a 2012 G37S brand new. Daily driver but I don't go far. Around 54k miles. Looks brand new. Drives like new. I don't see anything out there that tempts me. I plan on keeping it as long as I can. Only complaint is the driver's seat is getting a bit lumpy but not that bad.

 

Being that your kids are older, how well they fit in the back? I worry that my humongous kids wont have much feet space in the back once they ditch their car seats.

Have you ever let someone else drive your car while you're in the back seat? Seems almost a silly question, but for most of us I'm guessing we're the only ones who drive our car. And when someone else drives, it's pretty unlikely you'd sit in the back seat. But seriously, do it some time. It's almost a surreal experience, and gives you a perspective on the car that's a whole lot different than you're used to.

And when you do, you'll be shocked to discover how spacious it is back there. Whether there's actually a whole lot of space or not, it feels like there is.

An yeah, 3 generations of over 6ft tall. My oldest is 3/4 my size already

 

Not an original owner but I do plan keeping the car for another 2-3 years. My nephew is 16 and he is hoping he can take the G off my hands when I am ready to buy a CT5VBW.

Also, I wouldn't worry too about the 2 failures you mentioned. If both were to happen you can get it all fixed under 3k. In my opinion that's relatively cheap compared to some of the issues other cars have today.

 

Purchased my 2010 S in 2014 with 32k miles. Currently at 108k and plan on keeping it for a while. I love the car and still get giddy when I look back after parking it.

 

Bought my 2011 6MT IPL in 2013. 80k mi and it’s been fully rehabbed and modded to exactly what I want. With pandemic changing everything I work from home permanently now and rarely drive it so it’s not accumulating any miles. I don’t plan on ever selling it.

 

Actually, when my wife and I were searching for houses in the Sacramento region My wife drove from San Jose once (about two hours), and I took the back seat while my Mother-in-Law took the passenger seat. I'm only 5'5" but the only way I could get comfortable was to put my feet behind the passenger seat, scrunch down and lean against the side of the car behind the driver's seat. Agreed it provides a different perspective but in the coupe, it's not a ride Id volunteer for again anytime soon. It's terribly claustrophobic and you're looking up out of the rear glass most of the time plus if it's a sunny day, the back seat gets fairly warm. Kids might be a different story though? If Infiniti would have offered a rear seat delete, I would have gone for that in a heartbeat. I've never bought a car for the rear seat, and never expect to spend any time back there,

The back seat in the sedan isn't as bad, certainly no worse than most smaller cars of the same relative footprint

 

My 2011 sport is still my daily. Got around 116k now. Getting ready to replace the differential bushings a second time. Already purchased Z1 poly for this time along with their differential brace. Still on original clutch and 2nd csc. This stock replacement has lasted 7 years I guess but it stays on my mind every time I get in traffic. I enjoy the car as much now as I ever did. I love rowing the gears on a curve filled back road listening to the exhaust and the vhr growl. Not replacing her anytime soon.

 

My CSC failed in 2014, under warranty, and I'm on the stock replacement too. And just like you, it's on my mind almost all the time, because of course it is. Losing your clutch pedal without warning is the kind of thing that you never forget.
