2012 G37X Rear Seat belt Replacement

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could provide any guidance on this situation.

I have a 2012 G37X sedan and my dog partially chewed through the rear seat belt (the seat behind the front passenger seat). I was looking up some information and found some companies that I could send the seat belt to in order to have it repaired instead of buying a completely new seat belt.

My questions are:

1: Is it a good idea to have a seat belt repaired like this? I wouldn't want it to be a safety issue.

2: If it is fine to have a seat belt repaired like this - how would I go about removing the seat belt? I was unable to find any videos or any other forum posts with any information on how to remove the seat belt. I managed to find the service manual for the vehicle that appears to have the information. But, it looks like a bit of an intensive job so I wasn't sure if I was looking at it correctly.

Thank you.

Never repair a broken seat belt. Replace it. You can probably find one off a wrecked G in a junk yard for cheap just make sure it's the right color.

As far as replacement I can say I only had to do a seatbelt replacement once and it was on the driver's front and that was on a Honda and if I recall it was a pain. I'm thinking you may need to remove some plastic trim on the rear deck for your issue but I am not sure at all.

But you can bank on it being one of those problems that once it's done it's easy but you still want to pay someone to do.
