I don't know for sure, but I think that's the OEM front lip for the non-Sport bumper on the 2009. There were always two different bumpers between the Sport package and non-Sport, although in 2009 the differences were less obvious. Here's a pic of the non-Sport bumper on the 2009, with the OEM front lip designed for that particular bumper. I think you've got the wrong lip.
Strike two, eh? Boy, that sucks.

Jeez that sucks I finally had a day off to do it but it's been more than 30 days since they last shipped it.
Guess I'll just post it on here and try one last time.
Smokey grey 37 - in your OP, you stated you have a 2009 g37s sedan, meaning you have a sport model. From the photo you posted, that front end is a Journey model or base model. The lip you receive will NOT fit. The lip you receive is correct for a sport model front end but not for a Journey. Check out the photos below for the front bumper+lip differences.

Did you purchase the car used? Do you have the Akebono big brakes? I'm asking because you stated you verified by VIN, and it may be that the prior owner might have replaced the front bumper.
I think the grill is more evenly space and why it looks much smaller, but yes. Also, the design of the lower grill flaring is shaped a bit more aggressive with sharper lines on the Sport model, and the journey is smoother.
Another thing to note is that the lip for the sport goes over the front bumper and follows the lower grill flair (hence the gap on OPs picture). The Journey on the other hand is more of an add on to the lower part of the bumper and is a bit more flushed to the bottom of the bumper.

Yeah the car was bought used through offerup
yes it has bbk
The vin shows a journey/sport
But I always called it just a "sport" because of the carfax and the red "S" in the trunk.
Jesus these damn things are so confusing.
So the journey regardless if it says sport has a non sport bumper
Smokey Grey 37 - Yeah, I agree it's definitely confusing. After doing some digging, it looks like you have a Journey with a sport package, so it makes sense you do have the Big Brakes. I believe the sports front end might have only come on the 6mt model. I have a 6mt model so I have the sport front end, but I swear I've seen some automatic with the sports front end too. Shurg? Either way, it looks like you have a Journey with a Sport package. Hope that helps clarify.

Journey, which was RWD without LSD and without a host of other performance considerations.
Journey with Sport Package, which was the same as the 6MT but with 7AT slushbox. A really good value, IMO.
AWD
AWD with Sport Package, which is mostly appearance only
6MT, which for some reason was its own submodel, and super rare.
Starting in 2011, the 6MT Sedan came with the Premium Package by default. You could call it top-of-line for that year, but AWD owners would probably disagree. (And they would be wrong.)
