Brake Kit advice for the G37S
Brake Kit advice for the G37S
Hello, my G37 has a history of bad brake jobs, only replacing front pads etc....So I'm looking for the best possible full kit for online prices. (Not looking for cheap)
So I know ebay will try and sell you a standard g37 brake kit and says it will fit an S. They also have crappy parts.
So where can I get the absolutely best all in 1 stop shop for the g37S Brumbo brakes? Front / rear rotors and all.pads? And maybe decent options for good brakes that are less expensive as well? Although I'll probably go for the best.
Thank you!

Well for one thing, they are Akebono brakes, not "Brumbo."
If you want the best, here you go:

Ya I'm looI'mg at them thanks! Have u tried these? I'm a bit hesitant on slotted rotors, one time I bought a pair for an old BMW, and they had a slight sound simaler to a baseball card in bycicle spokes during braking (they were an Ebay crap set). Also people say they are generally bad for street.
Say something good and I think I'll pull the trigger cus they are sexy.
Your title says best possible, not most affordable.
Here, I'm changing the thread title.
The Z1 2pc are street rotors.

There is no best, only what is most appropriate given the circumstances. I could recommend you a great set of racing pads and you'd immediately wreck pulling out of your driveway because they have no cold bite, dust like crazy and squeel like brakes on a school bus.
Do you ever track your car or are you looking for a good setup for the street?

Never tracked just commute. I'm looking for good bite, quiet, long lasting, specially rotors resistant to warping. I have a cart with some recommended brakes. Links above. Its right around $600 with shopping. They are slotted rotors. I'm just waiting for a discount code responce from the seller. Or a better recommendation.
You're never going to warp a street rotor unless your SOP is to make them glow. The word "warp" is used a little too casually by almost everyone ever.
Slots are for show.
2-piece are for weight reduction... and for show.

There is no "resistance to warping" because rotors don't warp. That's a common misconception. The shaking/shuddering is caused by pad deposit build-up due to either constant hard braking and/or cheap pads.

i recommend going with blank rotors for a daily driver as they are better in the vast majority of circumstances. Slotted and cross drilled rotors are noisier, wear pads quicker and have less surface area than blanks (less friction and heat mass). Many of the cheaper varieties use crappy Chinese blanks and mill them, which can lead to dangerous weak spots.
I usually recommend centric blanks and Akebono ASP pads. Not sure anyone offers that as a package deal. Most of the time "warped rotors" are pad deposits or runout from rust building up between the rotor and rub surface due to improper prep by by rushed techs working on book hours. I always clean all rust off the hubs and put a thin coat of copper anti-seize on the mating surface between the hubs and rotors to prevent oxidation. You should also change brake fluid. I personally like the pedal feel with ATE Type 200.
I've quite liked my Z1 brake booster brace. You can really only get 2 of the 3 mounting bolts, but it still works; feel was increased, similar to going to stainless lines
I used to build pools in the summers to help pay my way through school. My boss would go out to do the estimates for new in ground builds. He always said if the home owner said 'I want nothing but the best, price is no concern'. Price was a concern. He'd always tell them, 'well, well, you can do this full blown beautiful pool...for half the value of your giant house, but I'd recommend this...'. If we got the job, they had gone for 'this'.

Scored a full set of used Akebonos of off craigslist,
came with mounting bolts, banjo bolts, and pads.Brand new Centric sport rotors, came with pads too.
Stoptech stainless lines, and high temp synthetic dot 4
Night and day difference!
I'm surprised they let these cars off the lot with that anemic standard brake setup Had to space my stock 18" wheels to clear the calipers.
