Anyone want to stop me from doing something stupid?
Since nobody wants to buy my mint stock sport wheels for cheap, I'm considering painting them. And I have never painted anything before. Getting tired of looking at them in my garage, maybe they will be more... appealing? I'm desperate to sell them.
I will just post a rough, MS Paint edited version of my idea. I'm really bad with graphics/art type stuff.
I mean, they aren't worth a ton, and like you said nobody is buying them. Might as well try something with them, i say go for it. Good way to learn how to paint. Funny thing is your edit looks very similar to the sport coupe 19"s. You need that really flexible pinstriping masking tape to get the lines correct.
Tape everything off
Sand it
Primer 2 coats, waiting X amount of time between each coat
Paint 2-3 coats, waiting X amount of time between each coat
Clearcoat?

Yeah pretty much. You may want to clear coat the entire wheel, or you'll have a lip where the new paint meets the old paint. Be sure to clean the wheel very well with wax and grease remover before spraying.
I guess I'll be the first one to try and stop you. The design will look like **** and will also make the wheel smaller than what they are.
This means now you'll be stuck with the ****ty outcome and will be even harder to get rid off.
On top of that forget even trying to get half of what you originally wanted.
If you're going to paint them, do a single color and something that flows with your car in case you want to throw them on. Also try and choose a color that would compliment them since folks are always looking for a good 18in wheel in 5x114.
Possibly the reason why they have not sold is no one is willing to pay your asking price.
Save yourself the time, headache and guilt and shame and get rid of them. If they bother you now, imagine after.
I’m with Bull they likely won’t come out great and make it that much harder to sell. I’ve been keeping an eye on your set to gauge the sale price for when I eventually post mine up. Not looking good as your set is cleaner than mine.
I would just hold out at your current price or try and split them to some of the xS AWD guys that want to go square.
The rears are a good spec at 18x8.5 +42(?) with BBK clearance, someone will want them for spare set up.
