Interior LED Issues

My G37 came with some after market interior LED's and they work well. They make a buzzing sound right before they are about to auto shut off. I tired LASFit T10 LED replacements which had great light but they interfered with my trunk button on my FOB and the actual button on the trunk when they where on. The trunk could not be opened when the LED's where on, had to wait for them to be off. I am just looking for a replacement for the MAP and Reading lights. I tired the premium Precision LED bulbs and the same thing happened. There is some sort of interference with the trunk release. The other LED's I mentioned before all did not make a buzzing sound before shut off which was nice. Would appreciate any input on ones that will working without interfering with the FOB.

Here is the LED's that came with my car and work, clearly some aftermarket ones.

Have you looked into Diode Dynamics?
Bought a complete set from them at least 6 years ago for my Coupe and have had ZERO issues.

Yes I have, I use their glove compartment LED and there door LED's, work great. I was thinking of getting their lights for this issue I have, but they said FOB interference is a common issue and I might run into the same problem. But if you don't have any problems, I will give it a shot. Thanks!

All I can say is that, in 6+ years, I have never had a issue either with the trunk release, the fob, any of the buttons, or the LED's themselves. Still the original set.

Additionally, I even installed some tiny LED's from http://superbrightleds.com as accent lights for my doors and have had no problems.

I would strongly advise you stay away from Amazon and eBay. That cheap, Chinese crap causes all sorts of issues.

Just my 10¢.

Thanks for the input. Yeah I didn't go with the generic stuff, hence why I tried LASfit and Precision LED originally.

I'd highly recommend Diode Dynamics. I've owned two separate G37xS sedans and I outfitted the interior of both with all DD LEDs. No interference to report. In fact, this is my first time ever hearing of "fob interference".

I ordered the interior map and reading lights from Diode Dynamics, will try them out when I get them. I only had issues with the physical trunk release button and only the trunk button on the FOB when the interior lights where on. Someone else had a similar issue on the G35 forum:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...igent-key.html

Thanks for the input.

Thank you! I placed an order for some DD0022P bulbs and will install them once I get them. Whole reason for me swapping the bulbs is the original ones make an annoying buzzing sound before they auto shut off. Though they don't cause any interference with my FOB. The ones I tried all caused inference when they are powered on.

Very interesting. When I purchased my G I didn't have any issues with my fob, door switches, and trunk but somewhere along the line the functions became extremely unreliable. I know for a fact though my issues aren't limited to only when the interior lights are on. I'll try pulling the VLED's I bought and testing.

Np, I thought my antenna for the trunk was acting up and did some trouble shooting and realized it was the new LED's I put in. Apparently its not an uncommon issue on cars where LED's will cause all sorts of interference with key FOB's.

Good luck, hopefully you can get that resolved. I got the LASFit complete exterior LED package and don't have any issues with that luckily, but interior MAP and reading lights they would interfere with my FOB's trunk release. They have nice support though and helped me out.

+1 for @Diode Dynamics (and superbrightleds.com, but they have longevity issues in my experience). I have LEDs in the door path lights, the trunk, the sun visors, the above-rear-door lights, and the map lights. My only DD ones are the map lights - the SBL ones started flickering badly when the lights PWM dimmed and eventually failed.

Based on buying turn signal LEDs from DD I figured their interior stuff was expensive too but turns out, not really. And they were happy to sell me individual colors for the 194-style bulbs, since I like the driver's map light to be red.

Neither light manufacturer's bulbs have interfered with my key fobs or the physical trunk button - that sounds like a super crappy voltage converter in the bulb making a lot of EM noise.

Edited to add: I have LASFit 921-style bulbs in the backup lights of both the G and the wife's CX5 with no issues whatever. DD rear turn signal (the only light I could find with the right wavelength to shine brightly amber through the red lens). Front is all incandescent and HID right now.
