Wanted to reach out and and see if anyone else has came across this issue. This past weekend I bought aftermarket wheels and installed them. After doing so I went for a test drive and noticed the abs, brake, tire pressure and traction control light are all lite up. To accompany that my speedometer isn’t reading anything. Twice now I took it out for a drive and all the lights went off and speedometer started working for a min and then stopped again. It is a 2012 sedan trim level is a journey. Thanks for the help in advance.

I bet the wheel speed sensor on one or more of the corners was bumped. One of those not reading correctly could cause problems like that.

Thanks for the info! I’ll take the wheels off and look at them! I also forgot to mention that I am getting two codes. P1721 & P0725. Could these also be caused by the bumped wheel speed sensor?

Yes, both of those codes are related to the speed sensors. Simple google search pulls them up if your scanner doesn't come out and tell you what the codes mean.

Yes it shows up as vehicle speed sensor MTR and engine speed sensor. Didn’t think a wheel speed sensor would cause those codes but I’m hoping so. Thanks!

The wheel speed sensors are the vehicle speed sensors, just another term for the same thing. Those not reading properly probably clashed with the engine speed sensor readings and the computer wasn't sure which of the readings was wrong so it threw both codes.

Is your AWD or RWD? As this came up after you installed new wheels, could ypu put the OEM ones back on see if everything returns to normal?
That may be what the manual says, but it doesn't give any other possible causes... It's a relatively common issue when removing/installing wheels that a wheel/vehicle speed sensor can get bumped and not read properly.
OP, sure go ahead and check the harnesses just to cover all of your bases, but I'll be genuinely surprised if it's not from one or more of the wheel speed sensors being bumped. Everything is pointing towards this being the issue, unless during the installation you somehow tugged on one of the wires and broke the connection somewhere, but that would have been obvious (you would have felt the resistance) and pretty hard to do since the wires are tucked away for obvious reasons...
It would be one he** of a coincidence that one of the connections in the harness failed as soon as you install new wheels.
The only one of the codes that is probably from the installation of your new wheels alone is probably the TPMS light. Most aftermarket wheels don't have TPMS, so unless you had them transferred or had new ones installed it's likely that's the cause of that light, but that light alone.

The vehicle is a RWD. I’m going to check the sensors first and then the harness. Right now I’m sitting in 20 degree weather and snow so I can’t get it back on a Jack for now. Hopefully this weekend I can get to it. Thanks for the help! I’ll let you know what I find.
So I looked at the front sensors and cleaned them and they looked good. Would anyone be able to tell me where the sensor runs to and connect so I can check that? Not sure what the rear sensors look like as I don’t see anything that looks like the front ones. Took it to O’riellys and it was throwing P0500. Is this the same as p1721 or p0725? Thanks
Ended up being that I was running 245/45/18 in the rear and 225/40/18 in the front. The front tires weren’t spinning at the same speed as the rear and the computer didn’t know what was correct. Got 245/45/18 in the front now and all the light cleared and speedometer is working.

that’s interesting, you said your trim level was journey, so it’s rwd right? I thought that kind of stuff only affected the AWD models. Good to know
