We always lie to ourselves when we fall in love with a car. I fell in love with that interior combo in 1995 when Honda release it in the prelude. A hell of an option for owners with tan

How are you liking those coilovers?

I have always liked this generation of prelude. This is the 2-tone look I was going for.

Gotta respect such a huge undertaking, congrats on the successful project.

And the interior came out so well, the black dash with stone seats is a dream combo. When I first bought my car, I was supposed to buy a black/black 6MT sedan, but then the dealership suddenly backed out of the deal (of course, the morning after I sold my old car...). So I scrambled to find another 6MT sedan, and found a black/stone one locally. I quickly googled “g37 stone interior” and must’ve seen a few photos of the 07-09 version, which had the black dash and stone seats. Got to the other dealership’s lot to find the dash was brown/dark beige and almost bailed. But without other options, had to pull the trigger. Have had to learn to like the color scheme of the 2010+ stone interior, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous of yours.

I appreciate the props, this SEM color coat dye/paint is incredible. It is $18 a can but it is holding up very well. Even in high-touch areas like the steering wheel and controls look good. The stone/brown is the worst spec interior in my opinion, I only like black interior or the red seats in anniversary/IPL edition. Much like you, I thought it was black dash/console etc in the photos I saw. I bought this sight-unseen and when it showed up I about had a heart attack it was such a POS car. Wouldn't start, terribly dirty, Wet inside from rain/flooded floor pans, dented/scratched everywhere photos did not show. It has come a long way but it is still a rebuilt, ratchet-looking G for $10k I have spent. Please don't be jealous bc if you saw this thing in person you would laugh at me. lmaoooo

Ha fair point, I guess. But I’m not nearly capable of restoring a car, imagine the pride in bringing one back to life has to be worth a bit.

Sure, the look and feel of a pristine car is great, but I’ve kinda come to appreciate the story of a car too, the ole “it’s about the journey, not the destination” cliche.

Like how Mando won’t give up on his ship, until the Empire turned it into a crater (this is the way).
