2010 G37x unresponsive
Hi there and thank you for any help.
I have had my 2010 G37 X sedan for 6 years and have had no problems. I don’t drive much, 20,000 KLM in the last 6 years.
I began having issues with the car over the last few days. No prompt acceleration after a full stop. I would have to press the pedal before the transmission engages.
I unplugged the battery’s negative terminal overnight to reset the ECU, hoping that would clear the problem but that made things worse.
After plugging the battery in, I started the car and put it in drive but there was nothing. In D or R, there was no response. I would have to press the gas pedal a couple of times and wait a few seconds to get a response from the car.
Sometimes depressing the gas pedal felt like I was pressing into nothing as the engine would not even rev up.
There are no warning lights on the console.
Can anyone chime inhere if you know.
Thank you.
Have you pulled codes from the onboard diagnostic system? There doesn't need to be a CEL for it to hold codes in memory.[/QUOT
Hi and thanks for the input.
Do you mean with a scanner or through the car diagnostic mode?
A high quality scanner with code descriptions is the best option IMO.
UPDATE:
I was able to drive the 2 blocks to my garage. After hoisting the car, the transmission cooling pipes were found to be rotted out and all transmission oil has leaked out into the plastic pan.
Mechanic ordered and installed infinity parts and replaced trans. oil. 15 minute test drive and transmission responded normally.
Bill came to $900 Cdn. I am shocked but relieved issue was not transmission failure.
Genuine Infinity parts, trans. oil refill, 5 hours labor.
Was I overcharged or fair? I'm in Montreal, Canada
Thank you
