This isn't a post asking for advice or bragging or anything like that. It's simply just a post for sharing my beautiful car.
I have a 2011 G37S Limited Edition. I have had this car since 2014 and I LOVE it! It's the first time I've ever had a car that hasn't left me thinking... "hmmm, I'm bored with this." It has almost 98K miles on it and i've owned it since it had ~24K.
This is my third Infiniti. My first was a blue slate 2007 G35S and right before our first kid was born, we traded it in for a platinum graphite (I think) 2011 FX35. The FX has almost 180K on it now and is my wife's daily driver. This summer was the first time I had ever had something go wrong with any of my Infiniti's. The radiator got a hairline crack in it on the side where the metal clamps down on the plastic. After attempting to temporarily patch it by melting the plastic with a soldering iron to fill the crack in (at the time it seemed like it should work... and probably would have if the crack wouldn't have extended under the metal clamps), I got a new one from Rock Auto and changed it out myself. I had never done anything like that before so I figured, WTH, why not.
Anyway, back to my G37... the 2011 Limited Editions had a Malbec Black exterior (which I think is the best paint color Infiniti ever used). It looks black when it's cloudy or dark but when any light hits it right, the metallic-flaked maroon/purple color comes out and... wow, it looks amazing! 😍 It also has Monaco Red interior which, at first, I thought was hideous but now I think it's beautiful. I hadn't initially realized it because I knew the 2012 G37 LE had factory black wheels but the first time I washed it, I found out that the previous owner had plasti-dipped the wheels. I don't really mind because aside from a few tiny nicks, the coating still looks fantastic.
I have two minor nuisances with this car.
1) Bluetooth audio streaming is fine... when it works. I've used both Androids phones and iPhones and it's consistent. Sometimes it connects and plays beautifully, sometimes it won't connect, and sometimes it will connect but will stutter.
2) Like with Bluetooth, Satellite radio was fine when it worked. It has the worst satellite reception of any vehicle I've ever owned or been in. My wife and I can be in our driveway (which has no trees around it) and I have 100% visibility to the sky and the FX will receive perfectly fine and mine will either cut in and out or just won't get signal. If nothing else though, it is consistent where it doesn't work. This is a common problem for these cars and we canceled our satellite subscriptions anyway so it's largely a moot point but was still a nuisance when we were paying for it.
Anyway, enough rambling from me. I hope all of you are staying safe and healthy and thanks for viewing my post!
Welcome to the club, OP. Malbec black is a love-it/hate-it thing, but I think everyone likes the Monaco Red interior. What mods have you done over the last 6 years?

Same here!
Partly because I’m still pretty attached to the 6MT (so newer cars don’t tempt me much). Partly because I don’t drive much, so even after seven years, the G’s novelty still hasn’t worn off.
BUT mostly because I think the car’s hard to beat, without making some sort of compromise. And I also kinda prefer the older, rounder, sleeker profiles of cars designed in the late 2000s and early 2010s, versus newer models that’ve gotten sharper, more angular and that flatter facia profile due to regulations. For reference, I think the coolest looking sedans ever are the e39 M5 and b7 RS4, so take that for what it’s worth...

I would like to get some feedback for those that have owned V36s as to what they feel like a comparable successor to this car would be.

Had an E39 in the stable before the G37. The BMW handled better than any G37 I’ve ever been in. Light years ahead. It’s like jumping in from a smooth driver’s car and then into a truck. Not a bad car ny any means, since I like the G37’s power for it’s size. If they had 330 hp in the E39 BMW 540i, that would have sold like hot cakes.
You forgot the E38 and MB W211 E55 AMG. I also only like the B7 RS4 that Audi made, since anything after and before is hideous in my humble opinion.
Malbec black is my favorite color! Sadly I could not find one when I was looking. I love the depth of black with metallic flake and how the car changes colors depending on the light.
I actually contacted Infiniti corporate shortly after buying the car trying to understand if the LE's were actually "limited". I got passed around to like 4 different Customer Service representatives and the last person said she would do some research and get back to me. After having already been on the phone for over an hour at that point, I assumed that was more of a "don't call me, I'll call you" sort of thing BUT two weeks later she actually called me back. She said she talked to a bunch of people and eventually got transferred to someone in Japan. I can't find the email she sent me summarizing it but, if I remember correctly, there were 350 G37S's and 350 G37xS's made in 2011. Infiniti USA was given one of each model and those were driven to dealerships around the US at the end of 2010 and through 2011 to showcase the LE's.

Cute little VW Corrado in the background.
Thanks @Rochester I can't even tell you how many times I've been sitting in my car in a parking lot on a sunny day waiting for my wife to come back out and had someone pull into a spot next to me, get out of their car and stare at the car and get close just to see it. I LOVE this color. I had my car for a couple of years before my mother in law realized that it wasn't black.
Surprisingly enough, I haven't done ANY mods; surprising to me anyway. The only thing I would consider getting is a Hotchkis sway bar. I do wish it handled better BUT the better it handles, the more aggressively I'll want to drive it, which will then cause the tires to wear out faster, thus making it more expensive to own. Stupid adulting!
Yeah, he loves that Corrado! He was telling me one day about how much he had replaced on that car and I was like, "why don't you just buy a car that works?" He laughed and said it's a VW thing (which I will never understand I guess). I let him drive my car one morning though and I found him looking them up on autotrader later that day.

I completely agree! Oddly enough, when I was shopping for cars, there were two 2011 LE's (mine and an xS) for sale within 20 miles of each other. The previous xS owner had upgraded the stereo with a complete Focal separates and a nice amp but as I was test driving it, the drivers door woofer kept cutting in and out, the center speaker didn't work (even though it was upgraded as well), and the passenger tweeter didn't work. On top of that, it sounded horrible! Then there was this strange switch in one of the blanks near the TCS switch that me and the salesman couldn't figure out what it went to. The final thing that ruled that car out for me was the fact that the front psgr door was covered in tiny rock chips. Since the car was sitting on the edge of the lot that morning next to the grass and that door was also covered in tiny grass clippings, the salesman and I came to the conclusion that it had happened that morning when the landscaping company was cutting the grass. They tried to tell me that they would pay a shop near me to repaint it but I had to decline... WAYYYY too many red flags on that car.
