Enkei Duck feet rims or Enkei RPF1 for Rims upgrade?
Good evening guys. The time has come to upgrade the rims on my Infiniti G. I have the 17 inch non-sport rims, and it has seen better days. I am strongly considering getting the Enkei Duck feet rims that comes with the G37XS because it does not come with a staggered stance. I would also have to wait a year or so because my current tires have a lot of thread left. I was also thinking of the RPF1 in black. I have seen a few in person, and found them appealing. My tire shop is also able to order and install them for me with my current tires. One thing appealing about the RPF1s is the fact that they are also functional because they are lighter than both the Duck feet and my current rims. I am simply apprehensive because I read that they have the tendency to bend over time. Decisions, decisions. Let me know what you all think.
I'm sure you'll be fine with the RPF1 in terms of strength.
Enkei has a lot of more modern designs whose spokes lead all the way to the outer lip, if you're really worried about bending. I'm not aware that this is common on RPF1's however. But...they do have a big, unsupported lip. And yeah, that's probably something that a pothole can damage more easily than a supported lip.
This is not meant to sway your decision. But if we are sharing opinions for the sake of discussion....I'm not a fan of the RPF1. Everyone's opinion is different, of course.

I can't imagine wanting 18" non-staggered Sport Sedan wheels for looks, although arguably they are a small upgrade in appearance and size to the 17" non-sport wheels. But really, a very, very small upgrade, IMO. And I can't imaging wanting RPF1 wheels for anything other than the super lightweight performance gains. All things being subjective, those RPF1 wheels look rather unremarkable. On top of that, you're going to be showcasing your non-sport brakes with those wheels, which is never a good look.
In exception, Panda's car is lowered and flush with meaty tires and awesome brakes. He's got a great build. You're not going to get where he is just by popping on a set of RPF1 wheels.
OP, don't you have a third option? Or a fourth maybe?

How about a set of 19" g37 coupe wheels? Those look great on sedans and fit well.
What sizing for the RPF1 did the shop recommend to you? E
nkei does a lot of other great wheels also as mentioned by Hugh.

I was also looking into the BBS SR in Gunmetal grey. It is the closest thing I can find to the Enkei Duck feet and they come in 17 inches. Come to think of it, the RPF1s and BBS SR won't look very good with my non sport brake calipers. The Duck feet rims are thicker and I feel it is a better look for non sport G37s. I also always wanted the G35 S Sedans which came with the Duck feet rims and it looks so similar to non sport Gs. Just sucks I have to wait until I need new tires.

The technician was not specific, but he did mention the 17s would fit my car. It would reduce weight and rotational force which would equate to better performance. I would not go larger than 18s honestly. For me, I 17s and 18s are the perfect fit for my sedan.

Right. I've always thought it best to match 10 or 15 spoke wheels with non-sport brakes. Panda is spot-on about the 19" Sport Coupe wheels. There's a good reason why it's the go-to OEM upgrade on the Sedan, regardless of the brakes.
