Fix, Sell, or Part out 2009 G37x Sedan

Hello. I would like to hear any advice on what to do. So long story short my G37x sedan has been sitting in my garage for over three years. Engine took a crap years ago and i started to tear almost everything out of the engine bay except the motor. So it has been sitting ever since just taking space up and collecting dust. We are moving soon in the next month or two, and my wife would like me to take it to get fixed finally. I would also like that too but wonder if i would be better off just selling it as is or parting it out? I have a bunch of barely used after market parts too i could sell? I am just worried to spend a decent chunk of money and then something else could go wrong. Maybe get rid of it and cut my losses? I have no clue what would be a fair price to even sell it is in its current price? $1,500-$2,000?? I live in Berks county, PA. I have no clue who would be a reputable shop who would even take on the job? I mean the engine is still in the car, but i ripped almost everything out of the engine bay. Also before underneath the whole exhaust was completely rusted and you could not take one bolt off. The one nissan dealer at the time said the cats were bad and that the guts were bad and got sucked into the engine?? Anyway i had to use a sawzall to remove the cats and exhaust years ago too so that would also have to be replaced.

That said any advice on what maybe the best thing to do would be greatly appreciated. If i part out i do have a few aftermarket parts to sell. I also have the money right now to fix it and would not mind getting a used motor put in and getting the cats and a new exhaust put on. I would like the motor and installation to have a warranty on it, but I do not want to get ripped off either and pay an enormous fee. Any one also have any recommendations for a semi close shop to do an engine swap? Thanks for reading.

Find out how much it would be to get the car running 100% meaning full exhaust system along with engine and parts vs buying one same year used.go the cheapest route.
with that being said depending on the interior if it was my car I would definitely fix it up.I would get a low mileage engine from a newer 370 and do the swap

I would need more details. What aftermarket parts do you have. How many miles on car. Overall condition interior and exterior. Things like that. A crate motor will run 5k. A used motor...less.

If it's just been sitting in a garage collecting dust for 3 years, it doesn't sound like you're very committed to it. I personally would just sell it as is and let it be someone else's project. You would probably get more $ selling the aftermarket parts on here than you would selling it to the respective buyer.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I have a Takeda intake, swift springs, front lip, and 20" wheels, I also made a custom grill which turned out pretty good.. Car has 90K miles I believe, and the interior is in pretty good shape. Paint in decent but not great.A few reasons it sat for years, one was money to fix(or at least the wife was not willing to allow me to put more money into a car that already cost a lot to buy). Two I had another vehicle, and three we have two separate garages and storing it was not a problem. I am going to email a few shops, none right around my area, to get some estimates and get some idea what cost I am looking at. Yeah I definitely would sell the aftermarket parts on here if I go the route to sell the car. Anyone know a fair price for a sale price as is? Post on craigslist?? Thanks again.

Can't really give you a price without pics. You could browse part-out places to gauge how much the most common/sought after parts go for, add them up, the take 1/2 - 1/3 of that. Without seeing anything and going on what you describe, I'd guess around $2300-3300 would be a fair listing price. If you call and get estimates for a tow (probably ~$100-150), you could include the tow for free up to a certain radius to help get it out of your hands and sweeten the deal.

If you took it to a shop to fix it, that labor cost is going to take every bit of profit you could have made restoring it/flipping it yourself. Most shops are going to charge you extra since you've already been removing pieces. Unless you wanted to engine swap (still not worth it since it's an X), I wouldn't bother unless you do it yourself.
