Scotty Kilmer Reviews a G37 Sedan

Scotty Kilmer reviews (mechanically inspects) a 10-year-old G37 sedan with 92,300 miles for a customer. If you regularly watch his YouTube channel, you know he can be perceived as a Toyota fanboy, who often speaks glowingly of his 20-plus-year old Celica and his wife's Lexus ES 330. If you watch his channel, you also know he discourages buying older Infinitis as potential money pits.

I think Scotty surprised himself after the inspection and test drive. "This thing is fast!" I wonder whether his opinion of Infinitis will change. Enjoy!

OMG that guy is annoying. Couldn't watch the whole thing. Interesting bit with the scan tool, though. And it's certainly gratifying to see a high-miles G37 still kicking butt.

Maybe he's an acquired taste. I used to think the same thing about Doug DeMuro, but something tells me this yahoo is no Doug DeMuro.

10 year old car? Maybe if it's a 2010 and she bought it in Fall of 2009, otherwise... nope.

Scotty didn't hate the car, I'm surprised! Normally he bashes anything Nissan that's newer than 2003.

This guy is a hack. If it isn't a 20 year old Toyota or Honda with bare bone features he has nothing but trash to say about it. His 'advice' is incompetent at best and should not be followed. Example: tells you to join a bad brake line with a compression fitting..a fitting that is not to be used on brake lines.

Doug irritates the hell out of me. I'd rather chew glass than listen to one of his reviews.

Alex on autos does great reviews and Chris Fix is the GOAT of DIY. Savage Geese does some good work as well. His voice got on my nerves at first but I can tolerate him now. His videos have a splash of humor while he reviews interior, exterior and performance. He also puts the cars on a lift and inspects the structure & suspension and how it affects the handling characteristics. Another I enjoy is Sarah n' Tuned. Her channel is about as real as you can get and is very relatable.

Oh yeah, I completely understand. But over the years his incredible work ethic has produced a massive and consistent body of work, with a thorough review of quirky car details that's respectable regardless of his annoying personality. I would never, ever want to know him on a personal level, but appreciate his reviews nonetheless.

Alex is also very thorough, but has all the personality of a wet slice of white bread.

He's got quite a following; I won't deny it but his reviews are just so whiny that anything relevant he says goes right by me as all I can focus on is how irritating he is.

Scotty is not well regarded in the car community because of some very bad advice he's given over the years. Just extremely biased opinions on vehicles with little facts and wrong mechanical instruction. But an interesting video none the less, funny he had good things to say.

I am surprised that car didn't go into limp mode while he was driving it.

In my opinion except Toyotas and maybe Hondas these premium Nissans are still more reliable than other brands.

Another cause may be these cars' throttles are more aggressive than Toyotas, some people drove them fast(more stress) but didn't know it (like me). So changing oil and good oil become more important...

Beside 2010 M35X and 2007 G35S I also own a 2017 GSF. Sometimes I think my old G feels faster. Of course if I floor GSF, it becomes much faster...

Even though I own GSF now I still love to drive my old G and M a lot... (Now my son drives the G)

By the way GSF actually is very good... Recently I rented a 2018 M4 and 2018 Miata. Both my wife and I think GSF is more stable and comfortable on straight and curvy roads than M4. I also think GSF feels as nimble as M4 and Miata!?! These results are really surprised me A LOT and totally unexpected...

One more thing...

I change trans fluid every 30k miles for my G and M. Now their trans are still as smooth as butter...

Scotty had a lot of good points regarding the electronics, transmission, and oem parts being expensive. Though, I would disagree with him when he said they're hard to work on. I think they're pretty easy to work on in my opinion. I also disagree him saying the V8s aren't as strong as the VQs. The newer VK engines can produce a hell of a lot more power reliably.

Unless it's a 1993 Toyota, it isn't getting Scotty's approval. Someone should tell him the lineups have changed a bit since then.

Someone should run an intervention. This guy is a drunken mess.
