First Mod opinions

Looking for input. I have been a member for quite a while now but haven’t been able to do much in the way of mods. Just scraped up $3,000.00 to mod with. So here are my thoughts for mods, Stillen Gen 3 CAI, Motordyne ART pipes and Shockwave CBE. I already have Hotchkiss sways and SPL pro front upper control arms.

These mods are will be going on 2012 limited edition, 7at black sedan that I have owned as my daily for the past 3+ years. It will continue to serve as my daily as well.

I know mods are a personal thing but looking to do it right the first time. And want the help of those who have been there done that and got the T-shirt. I have been reading numerous threads on here which are great and have provided lots of good intel.

Thank you for your help.

Most people might recommend sway bars (which you already have), but I personally love my first mod to usually be an exhaust. Then from there, I'll do sways --> HFCs --> CAI --> Tune --> Exterior.

Good luck!

Budget for a tune. With both the CAI and exhaust, you'll flirting with the edges of the ECU maps.

Thanks for mentioning the Tune. I figured that I was getting close to the edge of the ECU mapping. The problem I am having is finding a tuner anywhere near the New Orleans area for Infiniti. It seems like Houston or Atlanta is the nearest I heard of with a good reputation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It’s seems like the mail tunes and such get very mixed reviews on the threads I’ve read on here. Sounds like I may have to squeeze a tune in the budget. All the better as far as I am concerned.

You can have Moncef from AdminTuning remote tune your car. As long as you have a Windows laptop, just send him a list of your mods, hell write up a tune for you and then help you fine-tune it live via skype while youre in your car.

I personally did the stillen gen 3 intake first, and it really woke up the car quite nicely. You get some nice intake noise with noticeable performance gain.

Thanks for the Moncef info. I researched him and he now has the Bluetooth ECUtek system. There by eliminating the need for laptop. Another bonus to it is that it works with iPad or iPhone!!!

It's one of the quieter options out there. It makes the sound deeper, and just a bit louder. At high RPM, it still screams. I personally love it. It's a great budget option with good build quality, no drone, and no trumpet sound.

Have my G37 tuned is by far the best mod I've done performance wise.

Really? He was adamant since he started his Admin Tuning business that UpRev was the way to go.

He has stated in a few videos that he prefers Uprev, but it doesn't matter what software you use, it's about the tuner using it.

Agreed. For probably 99% of the people tuning their G's, the only thing that matters is the tuner, not the software. And Moncef's reputation seems to only be growing in a positive way.
