Unhappy Gas not wanting to pump

I have had this issue at several pumps. The pump will not want to stay on and keeps clicking itself off. I've taken my Rover to the same pumps and no issue. What could cause this?

Thank you for any help in advance guys. It is an annoying problem. Makes fill up take forever.

Best,
Banshee

AFAIK, its a potential problem with the evap system. There's a TSB on it.

Is it free and if so, how does one go about getting this serviced? Does it need to happen on video, do they need to be able to reproduce the issue in person, etc?

I get this maybe every 2 out of 4 times I pump gas, which is quite often. I would love to get this fixed lol.

Same thing happens to me from time to time at different gas stations. I brought it in and they "tested" it even though I had recently filled the tank. All they said was that they couldn't reproduce the problem and to keep track of where I got gas and what the weather was like at the time to see if there was a correlation. Haven't found one yet. It's really annoying when it happens so I just don't put the nozzle in all the way and just listen to determine when it's just about full. Funny thing is I don't think I've ever had that problem at a full-serve station.

Ive had my car for over a year, and just recently this winter this problem happens here and there. Is it a correlation with the cold? Ive had to do what Neal does and pull the nozzle half way out to get it to go.

Do you have a link to the TSB?

I had this problem on my 2010 G37 Journey since since I bought it used in 2012. I took it to the dealership and they said they couldn't find anything wrong/ not able to reproduce. Then I read on the forum somewhere that setting the gas pump at slower notch helps and it did for me. Never looked back since. Some pumps work fine, but some click off randomly. So I first try filling at the fastest notch and if it clicks off I set it to slower notch and it always worked for me.

I've been having this problem intermittently and read somewhere to try turning the pump nozzle upside down. It has worked every time so far.

Pretty normal to happen at some gas pumps, but it never happens at the gas station I mainly go to.

My evap canister (?) had to be replaced at my used car shops expense. When i bought the car a day later the SES light came on, I cleared it P0456 (I think). Came back 5 more times. Changed gas cap and finally went to the dealer and they fixed it on their dime!

This. Only had issues once or twice, but flipping the pump handle let it fill without issue.
