I haven't tried it with TC off but I would think my car would get sideways if I do ?

Why do you think that?

Find a safe location, switch off TC, and just hammer down from a full stop. Spin it up and see if you hop.

Maybe if you turn the steering wheel. You are already overriding the TC if you are getting the wheels to spin.

I know this is off topic and I should post it in different section but have you guys had any Xtra free play on the clutch pedal? I upgraded my clutch system and after the install it just wasn't the same. I took it back to the dealer n they fixed it but after driving it a couple miles the free play comes back. I noticed after removing the spring thats on the pedal it improved but the pedal wiggles lol

You might get more traction for this question in the drivetrain or coupe forum... more 6MTs over there.

Removing the spring is going to be sloppy. At least get jsolo's clutch pedal spring.

What did you do to upgrade the clutch system? The RJM Performance clutch pedal assembly should solve any issues and dramatically improve the shifting.

I noticed that if I am already moving at 20-40 mph and drop the hammer, then I can spin the tires at will without any hop. Weird!
Just wondering about your tires.... What is your tread wear rating?

Bridgestone RE-71R in 275 width in back with a 200 tread wear rating. Very sticky tires.

Mine are 400 (RE-970 All seasons) and on the street in the dry I don't have a "wheel hop" problem.

Generally, sticker rubber has more in ultimate grip, but breaks aways quicker. This would load the subframe bushings more,
then the tires let go quicker and wheel hop is the results.

Harder tires (like mine) don't load up the subframe bushings as much and break away in a more gradual manner.
Maybe that is the difference?

I suspect the only fix for you is stiffer or solid subframe bushings.

-OR- let's do a test and trade wheels

Over the years, i started with OEM Bridgestone summer-only tires (RE-11?), then Michelin PSS on the 18" duckfeet, then PSS on the 19x10" Vossens, and now Conti Extreme Sports. None of those configs hopped.

You could be onto something there with the tires. I already installed rear subframe inserts and replaced all the diff bushings so we are good there.

Won't you be putting snows back on the car in a few weeks? Do you hop with the snows?

Based on the last 2 winters, there is ZERO wheel hop from my X-ice snows. (they don't generate enough grip to wind up the sub frame)
