30,000 mile service Infiniti versus Nissan cost. Wow
I know, most everything you can do in your driveway. I don't want to do it
I called Infiniti to ask the difference in cost between Schedule 1 and 2 and the cost for the premium service. Infiniti response, we no longer offer schedule 1 and 2 and optional premium. We only offer one 30,000 mile service and it is $999.95......WHAT?!?
I then called my local Nissan dealership that I used before for service on my Infiniti. I provided them my service book and asked them to have a look and tell me what they would advice that I change and I also asked for the cost to clean my throttle bodies. This is what they would suggest Oil and Filter ($39.95 for synthetic), Rear Differential Oil $99, Transfer Case Oil $99, Fuel System Cleaning (as he stated this will also clean my throttle bodies. Will this clean the throttle bodies, is this worth doing?) $129. Total $366.95. He did say that they will check everything else over to see if they think anything else needs to be changed while I am there. As in check filters, check other fluids to see if they are dirty, etc.
Other than the four items that I bolded, anything else that you all believe I should have Nissan check specifically or change for the 30k service? Again, they stated they will look over everything else. But, anything else that I should request they change as an important thing at 30k miles?
Summary: Infiniti $999.95 and Nissan $366.95

The fuel system cleaning they’re recommending is worth it in ,my opinion, even though you have fairly low miles. I have done it on my G at 70k and it made a difference in performance and MPG’s. They will also most likely have to do ECM and idle relearn/ reset too afterwards like I did. It sounds like that Nissan dealership wants you as a customer and it’s not like they’re unfamiliar with our G’s.
The fuel system cleanser WILL NOT clean the throttle bodies. Fuel (and cleanser) is injected down stream. All that the throttle bodies contact are air and smutz pulled in through the PVC system. Cleaning the throttle bodies requires manual labor. Be sure the Nissan guy clarifies that point.
Brake fluid does degrade over time and high-temperature resistance falls. The owner's manual bundle has a service schedule pamphlet that shows when the brake fluid should be flushed. Every three to four years is the general recommendation.

Brake fluid was a questionable one in my mind. I just did it 2 years 10 months and 11,000 miles ago. It seemed excessive too me to do it again already.
