G37 xS Limited Edition

Hey everyone,

I am in the market to buy a 2012 G37xS. When talking to my bank about a car I found they are asking if it is a Limited Edition. How do I know if it is a limited edition? I can't seem to find a clear description on what the options are. I would appreciate anyones expertise on the subject.

There is no such thing. Maybe its an anniversary edition, which would have red seats.

There is a Limited Edition. Quick google search tells me that the main differences on the 2012 were black interior, midnight grille, front chin spoiler, navigation, and 18" gunmetal wheels. You could always ask the dealer to run the VIN and see what it comes back to. It should look something like this:

I may be wrong but just from my Google expertise it seems that the 2010 had an Anniversary Edition, which was a gray exterior with red interior. 2011 had a Limited Edition which was Malbec Black with red interior, and 2012 Limited which was Obsidian Black exterior with black interior.

Oh interesting, I had thought there was only an Anniversary.

So that one you are looking at is missing the midnight grille and front lip from what I can see. Its an Xs but not an Xs limited.

Wasn't it the LE where they introduced Malbec Black to the Sedan, after first appearing on the IPL?

AFAIK, the LE wasn't really unique except for the wheels, which were meh. The AE was much more special, in my opinion, because of the red leather.

The only difference I can see is the front fascia , wheels , and a rear spoiler. I like the XS wheels better myself and do like the fascia and spoiler options on the LE. The one I am looking at is the Malbec black. I suppose the decision to be made is whether to pay the difference and go against the banks advise that it is a little over priced.

Front chin, rear spoiler, midnight grille... those were all options regardless of package. The LE just included them by default, is all. Like I said, I believe the only thing unique in the LE was those wheels and the Malbec Black, which became a standard option shortly thereafter.

Hey, it's a fine car. Some swaybars, Swift Springs, spacers... Go for it.

2011 Limited Edition had red leather seats and HyperSilver anniversary/LE wheels

2012 Limited Edition dropped the red leather seats but did have a full graphite (black or dark gray) interior....I never saw one in person but that supposedly meant a graphite colored headliner and post covers in addition to the stuff thats normally black. The wheels also changed to a black chrome type color because HyperSilver involved lead paint in the application process.

The front grill, chin, other exterior effects were the same for 2011 and 2012.
