Whistling at speed

Whistling at speed
I have a 2010 G37x. The temperature is freezing here in Canada right now. I've noticed a new whistling sound when driving at highway speeds (100km/hr+). The sound increases with speed and changes with crosswinds. It seems to be coming from the center bottom of the windshield. It's not the wipers. The sound doesn't change when I run them. I've tried duct taping down all rubber seals in the area and the cowling. The whistling almost seems to be coming from the vents at the top of the dashboard where the windshield meets. Climate control and fan speed have no impact on the sound. Any ideas? Should I try replacing the cabin air filter and clean out the air box and vents?

I know that I had a similar issue and it was from the window seal, I cannot recall what position, but i would go check all your window seals and be sure they are seated properly. Sometimes sounds in a car can sound like they are coming from one place and actually coming from another.
Another idea, I remember I did this, was to push on each window at speed, when you hear the whistling. Well, I had my wife do it, so either grab a friend, GF, or SO and have them push against each window at speed, including the front windshield. You push out and if the sound changes, you at least know where to chase the leak.

Thanks for the good ideas.
qmantran, I'll try the recirculation thing next time I'm on the highway. I had it set for outside air. If switching to recirculate changes the sound, that would be a good indicator that something is amiss in the climate control ducts.
JustROLLIN, I tried a bit of the window pressing business to no avail. Mind you, being the only one in the car limited where I could reach. Next time I get a friend in the car on the highway, I'll give that another shot.

Seems more like it's coming from the middle of the windshield near the bottom. When I get my girlfriend to do the window pressing test I'll also get her to maneuver a small video camera and see if she can zone in on the exact position of the sound. I'll also try duct taping the plastic cowling to the windshield itself. That might be where the air is whistling through. It seems like the sound is coming from the inside of the car.

While you've got that cowling off, I'd wrap some sticky-felt around the bottom edge, going up a half inch on each side (front and back). Lots of us have done this to eliminate squeaks, creaks, and pops coming from the windshield/cowling, particularly when it gets cold.
