its actually the evap vent valve sensor.

 

so...there's some electronically controlled valve on the end of this tube that doesnt set off a CEL when it fails? Is this different than the purge solenoid?

 

it does set it off its its completely broke.

 

Just a quick update. Brought the car to the dealer to get the test done. Car passed, which I knew was going to happen since I never experienced gas coming out while filling. Also, service manager said that they have yet to have a car fail the test, so take that how you will.

Also, got the manager to confirm that if I do ever have the issue of gas spilling out, I can bring it back and any work will be covered by Infiniti corporate (within the 150k warranty). No paying for another test and whatnot. A few bucks spent for some piece of mind.

The issue that the TSB fixes is gas spilling out. The issue that Victory and myself suffer from is not filling gas consistently without the pump stopping. Not sure which you were referring to.
