Advice on buying a used G37 Sedan
Hello G37 community,
I'm currently in the market for a used G37 (my username will make more sense when I buy one
).
But I was wondering about this deal this dealer offered me. This dealer was offering they replace the bumper on the G37, (which has side damage and cracked), to a new bumper and they will offer me 1K discount off the price.
My question is: are these type of deals worth it in general? Deals where the dealer replaces the bumper or any damage part of the car and you get a discount? Or should I avoid these type of deals and just wait for a better car?
PS: Sorry I don't have any pictures of this vehicle.
Thanks to everyone that replies in advance!

Best bet is to list the current information about the car such as price, miles, year, model, and title status. That would help
Never heard of that combination offered before when buying cars, but then again, I only bought 2 cars in my life. It seems like they could be offering that deal for a few reasons: (1) the car had been sitting on the lot for a while and they are looking to get rid of it, which makes sense. (2) they could be overpricing the vehicle which means you could be paying more than the actual worth of the car, thus they don't want to lose your interest by offering the deal. Or (3) I have no idea .

The car was actually brand new to the lot. I believe it was only in the lot for less than a week when I saw it.
Info on the car: 013 G37 with roughly 29,000 miles on it and was priced at 20K.
The major issue I had with the car was it looks like it has been in accident but CarFax shows no accident reported. I believe it was in an accident because the bumper is cracked and scratched. (The dealer detailed it to the best of their ability but its noticeable within 3 feet of the car.)
I'm seeking advice on what people here think. Do people usually take deals where dealer offers to replace the bumper + discount? Or would it be more wise to wait for a better car?
Thanks for replying!

If it was the base G37 without the AWD or navigation, then it is too expensive.
For reference, I got my CPO '13 G37x over a year ago with 21k miles with navigation and premium and no accident Carfax (and none that I can see) for less than $23k from an Infiniti dealership.

Is the car CPO or not? Is it the G37x or not? Does it have navigation package and premium package? Is it still under bumper to bumper warranty? These questions are important in deciding on your pricing.

Not CPO but under manufacturer warranty. (Still has 11 months/30K miles or something like that)
Not a G37X
Yeah. It does got Navi. Got the Navi/Moonroof/Bose but no ICC.
For the Infiniti you got, was it 23K OTD or 23K excluding taxes/fees?
I was also wondering too. Would you personally buy a G37 from a dealer if they offered to replace the bumper of the vehicle? Or are those deals bad? Just generally speaking.
What I'm really wondering is: would anyone here buy a used G37 from a dealer with a cracked bumper if the dealer offered to replace the bumper and give you a discount? Or would people just prefer to find another car? Just generally speaking.

^ To me, it's not about the cracked bumper. I've messed up my bumper plenty of times. I average about $500 every year fixing bumpers.
If you're really interested in the car, have your trusted mechanic take a look. Point out your concerns to them. Do some research on local mechanics that are knowledgeable on G and Z cars.
To me, this isn't a deal I can't pass up. I would pass because it's not even an S. Lower mileage is nice but this car is very reliable.

But question: if you were in the market for a Non-S G37, would buy a car where the dealer offers to fix the bumper and give you a discount? I'm only hesitate because I'm not sure if this is actual thing dealer's do or were they trying to scam me.
In my experience dealers will try and spend the least amount of money they can to sell a car. If you wanted to replace the bumper and get it painted its going to cost you close to $1000. If there going to replace it and take off $1000 then do it. Not sure how they would scam you? You'll be able to tell right way if they didn't fix it and replace the bumper, if the fitment of the bumper is off or if the color is off. This seem pretty cut and dry to me. Check truecar.com to see what people in your areas are paying for the same car.

Would you say it depends on how severely damaged the bumper is? IE: Replacing minor damage bumper versus severely damaged bumper. I mean, what I'm trying to ask is, would you (or anyone here) take the dealer's offer of replacing the bumper if the bumper looks like its been an accident?
I tried using truecar but I couldn't find the info on used Gs. I easily found the new car info though. I'll check again.
^ one way around it would be to write in the bumper re+re as part of the condition of sale, where you do not take possession until the work is complete. that way you'll know for certain before handing over cash. and the extra $1k off is to sweeten the deal. as far as condition of the car is concerned, that's up to you to determine through an independent inspection.
