Exclamation Battery charge life

There was an article in the paper by Dan Neil, describing how many new luxury cars would run the battery down while sitting because of all the electronic gadgets which never turn off. His specific example was a new S series Mercedes which would not start when the owner came back after a trip of about a week- the car was waiting for him in the airport parking lot, but the doors wouldn't open in response to signal from the day- car had to be jump started. Has anyone had experience like this with an Infiniti? The article mentioned similar issues with a 2007 Corvette, and Mini Cooper. The Mercedes dealer was aware of the issue, and suggested using a trickle charger. Kind of tricky to do that at a public parking lot- like an airport. Other suggestions included removing the ground connection at the battery- which would certainly turn everything off, but would also clear the memory anything using a memory- like the seats and the radio. Any thought or suggestions?
