I been looking for a duckbill trunk for a while. I found this R1autoworks RB trunk on a facebook group.
I was wondering if anyone had one and how they liked it so far?
any problems with install ?

 

Not a bad price and I definitely like it better than the factory chrome piece. I would definitely want it painted with maybe just the edge strip of CF showing

 

I just looked into them for about 10-15 minutes and havn';t seen any issues. One member here had it on their Sedan in 2015 and seemed to like it. At $500 after shipping, this would be very appealing if you wanted the look of the buck bill spiler without the seam.

 

do you remember who the member was you found ? I been trying to find some better pics of the trunk with no luck. The price is what makes me want to get it $595 and i can pick it up local here in so cal.

 

AMQV (99%sure) is the member that mentioned having it. I'll see if I can dig up where I saw it mentioned

Edit: my mistake man, didn't realize he said it was an autokits trunk lid. If they're local, Can they do the install as well? I'd be willing to pay an extra $100 for an hr long install fee.

 

The manufacturer is based out of Santa Fe Springs, CA. Maybe like 80 miles from me. I don't think they do the install. I would most def pay 100 to get it installed anyday. Hopefully will be picking one up in the next month.

My options would be :
Bella Duckbill Trunk $1131 (Carbon Fiber)
R1 Autoworks RB Trunk $595 (Carbon Fiber)
Outcast Garage is currently making one as well $?

 

Maybe it's just the angle of the pics, but the duckbill part seems a bit flat, like it's not raised enough or something. The Bella duckbill has the perfect amount of height, curvature, poking-out, etc.

But this is just my opinion though.

 

well this trunk isn't considered a duckbill. I been wanting to get the bella duckbill for a while just seems to pricey for me to spend $1131 on a trunk.

 

I agree completely, but for $600+ in savings I would probably be fine with that one

 

Outcast Garage's first OG Designs trunk arrived 2 weeks ago and is on display at the shop. Pending for someone to do a test fit. It's the same design as the G35 Coupe, G35 Sedan and Q50 OG Designs Trunk Duckbill Design!

 

What is the pricing on the trunk?

 

It's $1,250 and 25% off for whomever is test fitting.

The carbon fiber lay is very consistent all the way to the edges.

Inside is a satin black, with pre-drilled holes for OEM carpet liner.

Super smooth and glossy resin.

Has a camera hole with the mounting area for the camera. But it does delete the trunk release button.

 

That's what the key FOB is for! Look cooler opening this way anyways

 

I have the trunk! I just installed it a couple of weeks ago. I waited 3 months for it tho, and someone else is one a month now so the wait time is long

 

Love how the coupes and the older sedans got the high duckbill look on the trunks. The G37 Sedan one looks like it got left out.
