Your last car, your G Sedan... and your next car
2GoRNot2G created a thread last week, asking about the car history for current Sedan members. It's a fun read. Really makes you nostalgic thinking about cars you used to own, as well as cars you almost owned or maybe wanted to own.

Seems there are a lot of shared automotive values here, which is kind of the whole point. So I thought it would be interesting to hear from the same members on a different approach to that question.
Essentially, what was to the left of you, and what's on the right?
Pics are always welcome.
Have at it!

1. 2003 Nissan Maxima SE 6MT.
Purchased brand new, owned for 9 years, modified and obsessed over.
2. 2011 Infiniti G37S Sedan 6MT.
Purchased barely used at only 3900 miles, owned for over five years, planning on ten, modified and obsessed over.
3. 2016 - 2017 Jaguar F-Type S Coupe 6MT
Very decidedly to be purchased used
, and mods... maybe, maybe not.

- What was your previous car that brought you to the G Sedan?
- Collect underpants.
- Coming from the G Sedan, what do you want for next car?

My last car was a 2001 Subaru Legacy GT (5-speed manual transmission). I bought it new, and decided to let it go when it started to rust and the head gaskets started to weep. My next car will likely be another Infiniti sports sedan, as long as they're still using longitudinally-mounted engines and RWD (or RWD-based AWD).
1. 2012 Kia Optima SX 2.0T (stock)
2. 2013 Infiniti G37x Sedan w/ stillen CAI and exhaust
3. Depending on the how HOT the offerings are and how much styling and mechanics change... Q50 or Jaguar XF or Alfa Romeo Giulia

1) 2002 Buick Regal GS. Supercharged V6 and grandma brakes and suspension. Was a downright frightening car until i swapped most of my suspension and brakes with a poloce package impala and added strut tower braces.
2) 2013 G37X. This one is staying mostly stock because mods are super expensive and get you nothing. Major improvement in handling over the Buick, obviously
3) I keep cars until they start falling apart. The Buick i bought used and drove for another 8 years. The G isn't going anywhere for a while barring some disaster. If i had to do it today, however, I'd be tempted to go huge and domestic again. Something like a 2013+ SHO. Running high 12s with an intake and a $500 plug-and-play tuner tool sounds just swell to me. The G handles magnificently (for the few minutes a day you're not boxed in traffic), but there's something about strapping a rocket booster to a living room couch that appeals to me.

I almost bought a 2007 G35 but opted for a Miata instead. The numbers said it would be cheaper to own.
Pull my pud.
Would either lease a BMW 3-Series or buy a low-mile Golf GTI. Looks like a fun car that wouldn't drain my retirement savings.

My thinking, or my personal experience, is that if the G was an evolution of automotive values, what led up to that? And in keeping with that trajectory, what comes next?
Not everybody can support multiple cars for a variety of reasons, both practical and financial. However, if you still have your G, but it got relegated to #2 in your stable... same thing.
It's just a thread to look at patterns, and maybe see ourselves in what other people are doing. Blah blah blah psychobabble.
