1984 2-door Jetta GLi 5MT - first car, bought in late 90's with almost 200k kms. loved it, awesome seats and gauge package. 1 of 200 silver 2-doors made, Canada only. tons of mechanical issues, kept it a few years and sold it for more than i paid. guy who bought it did a burn-out down the block as he left then wrapped it around a tree a month later. broke my heart at the time.

1993 Jetta VR6 5MT - second car bought used. fun and comfy, sporting intentions but nothing great. only kept it 1-2 years.

1990 Honda Civic DX 5MT - college car. crazy cheap and thrifty to own/operate. crazy dull too. kept 1-2 years.

1994 Mazda MX-6 V6, 5MT - bought used in last year of college and first couple afterwards. great car, still notice them when i see one drive by. no issues, very reliable and quick enough. kept it 3 years and sold it for almost what i paid for it.

2004 G35 6MT sedan - saved up for a year and paid cash in late 2006 so the G was ~2 years old - this is prime used-car territory to exploit depreciation but still retain lots of warranty. loved the G35 and it got me started with subtle mods. still like certain things about it more than the G37 (reclining rear seats, lighter weight, sharper response and felt more torquey down low). sold in 2010 1 day after posting the ad for sale.

2009 G37S 6MT sedan - bought used in late 2010. had to ship it from Baltimore to the west coast of Canada. took a bit of a chance since i had already sold the G35 and had not actually driven the G37S yet.
6+ years later still going strong with ~55k miles...

87 Chevy Spectrum (First car. Never could get that smell out of the trunk)
91 Geo Metro (1 liter & 3 cylinders of fury!)
68 Ford Mustang Notchback (Sold to a fella that shipped it to Australia and fully restored it with his son)
92 Nissan 240sx Hatch (Learned how not to drive a RWD car with this one. She had a tough life)
92 Nissan 240sx Coupe (Factory HUD car, Stance/Progress/SPL Suspension, should never have sold)
80 Porsche 924 Turbo (Really neat car, let go for parts after letting it sit too long)
94 Honda Civic (Current occasional beater)
97 Honda Accord (Gave it to my step brother - mistake)
89 Mercedes 190e (Gave it to my mom for a winter car. Still want to put a v8 and an Evo II kit on it)
11 Infiniti G37S Sedan (Current Daily - Just surpasses the 92 240sx coupe as my favorite car)

'98 Mercury Mountaineer - Family beater while I was in HS. Lot of good memories here.

'08 Mazda 3 - Bought this Brand new. Saved up everything I could muster when in school. My dad matched me and this car lasted me from 2008-May 2016. Modded this poor car as much as I possibly could. While I now realize I was silly for going as far as I did w/ an econobox 108 HP 'Mazdaratti', I wouldn't have changed a thing. Learned a lot and will be adding another Mazda soon.

'13 Mitsu Lancer - Kept from may until December and sold it the day after I signed the papers to my home. CVT + 26 MPG for a 4-banger was a joke. Figured if I was going to get that type of mileage I'd get an engine to Match....

'12 G37 - Matched. Always loved the G35 but figured this was out of my range. Went to pic up a muscle car and went home in the G. Love this car and all of it's fuel efficiency short comings. Mods coming as soon as I'm hitched in T minus : 2 months, 15 days, 2 hrs, and 55 minutes

Pretty nice list of cars there, John. What you lack in quantity you make up for in quality!

I also owned a Firebird (1987 Formula, 4AT, 5.7L V8) and a Nissan Maxima SE 5MT... And I almost bought a 1st Gen 240SX Hatchback shortly after they fist came out (don't remember there being a sedan version though... got a pic of that one?). In addition I'm considering a Jaguar F-Type for my next car... so it seems we have some similar taste in automobiles.

Another nice list of cars! Seems that a lot of us G owners used to have Pontiacs, Mitsubishi Eclipses, Honda Accords, and Dodge Rams. Sorry to hear that you traded in the G, but the RAM is a REALLY nice truck!! I've had my 2015 RAM 2500 Limited 4x4 with the 6.7L Cummins for a couple of years now and it is actually my favorite vehicle to drive. The interior is WAY nicer than my G, it's an amazing highway cruiser, and it will get 25+ MPG at 80 MPH... It's like a lifted 4x4 Limo!

I was seriously looking at the Giulia Quadrifoglio for my next car until they ditched the manual tranny option in the US. That's mostly ditched that option for me, or at least until I can get a chance to drive one with the 8AT and see if the auto is as good as the magazines are saying. Post up some pics of your new Giulia once you get it.

The Sedan was less common than the Hatchback. Personally, I think it looked better.

No, wait. Did they call it "sedan" or "coupe"? I just don't freaking remember.

Here, this is a nice round-up of my car history:

This thread is makign me nostalgic, nice to see peopple's lists...

Technically my G (2007x sedan) is the first car I have ever owned...

However, previously I owned:

1983 RZ350 with an 85 engine jetted and tomei piped
1989 FZR 400 with a GSXR 750 Front end and fairing kit... talk about a BBk lol

after that ... various cars I commandeered from family members for extended periods and maintained in exchange:

1984 Plymouth relient K Car- learned body work on this car
1989 Plymouth Caravelle (Gran fury) - learned engine and body work on this car
1994 Cutlass supreme
2000 Jetta sedan

Then lots of Subways in whatever city I lived in at the time for 15 years or so and voila...the G

Ok, gotchya. That's actually the body style I preferred over the hatchback "3-Door" version. My Mom had one that looked just like yours. I don't remember the year (either a 1991 or 1992) but it was called a 240SX SE Coupe at the time. Didn't realize they ever badged it as a Sedan.
