car vibration

Hey guys,
recently had a puncture in my rear passenger tire(hankooks) and since they were nearing the end, decided to buy two new 245/245's. had them mounted and ever since(~ 2 wks) i notice a vibration at hwy speeds, specifically at 70+ mph. below this speed its not noticeable at all. i took it the the nissan dealer to me and they balanced the tires 2x and both times tires withing specst etc. other than the two rear tires, nothing has changed, i have a slight alignment need and my rotors are due for resurfacing as i have vibration with slight pressure on braking, but all these were apparent prior to the rear tires being replaced. tires were from Tirerack and like i said drives fine at low speeds, just hwy. anyone come across something like this before or ideas on what could be the issue??? 2011 7at sport sedan

thanks

Are these OEM wheels? If not you might need hub adapting rings. Also possible the surfaces where the rotor/hub mate could need some clean-up.

It's also possible the tires weren't indexed, there's a stamped circle on most tires that should be aligned w/ the valve stem on the wheel or some wheels (like the OEMs) have a paint dot that should be matched to the tire stamp, this is typically the mount that will result in the least amount of weighting needed.

Could also be a bad tire, not common, but it does happen.

Could just be as simple as needing rebalance. I work in a tire shop. depending on the lube they use, if you pull off hard when you left the shop it can cause the tire to spin on the rim. Which would make it out of balance. could also be a bad tire..

thanks for the replies, the dot on tire certainly is an easy one to check and one that i did not know about, so will look into that. checked again on way into work and seems most notable at 79-81 mph, if i cruise at 74-77 or so its fairly smooth, but accelarate to 79-81 and pops up again, so thinking balance, but the nissan dealer checked twice and all came out well...so, maybe ill run it to infiniti dealer and see what they say, just didnt want to keep paying to find out when it may have been something i was completely overlooking. thanks again guys

Well if you still have the same issue and they have balanced them twice.. then possibly bad tire..

Does the shop use a Hunter machine? If not, I'd check around and find one that does.

yeah, I am starting to think a tire too as that is the only factor that changed prior to puncture, checked psi and all are 34 cold, which is my normal, so nothing new there. will check on the hunter as a final option and see what comes out of that and then i guess tire is my only choice, though I dont know if tirerack will replace at this point, but will see. thanks guys, much appreciated.

Any updates on this? I'm having a very similar issue. I actually think my issue might be a motor mount

If all was fine prior to new tires, then you have a bad tire. A road force balancer (Hunter like Blnew said) will be able to determine which one. I have had brand new tires that were defective.

^^took it to the Nissan dealer near me with a hunter machine and they balanced it and it was fine for 100+ miles or so and started again though not as bad...so now called infiniti dealership and they are saying 150 to look at car etc, so that may be my next step...
