PICS: '07 to '10+ Front End Conversion (The Beginning)

Hi all,

I'm coming over here from the G35 forums... because I am finally doing the '10+ Sport Front End Conversion! I had a little mishap with an exercise elliptical on the Interstate... (Yes an elliptical). Went to switch lanes when I was behind someone, and boom - right as I switched the elliptical was there. Caused a good bit of damage, but I decided this was an opportunity to do the conversion...

I have received all the parts, the car goes in for paint this Thursday. I will be updating with more pictures as I progress - but I have a question as far as fog lights and turn signal wiring goes.

- I'm looking for wiring color codes of the harnesses, so I know which wires to tap into for my Switchback Halos and Bumper Fog Lights. I have looked all over Google and the Forums but cannot find anything.

- In my experience, I know I can just tap the parking lights for fogs, if I want to - but prefer to tap into the main headlight harness since there is probably a wire there for fogs (I just don't know what colors). As for the Switchback Halos, I have already wired a toggle to a switch, but don't know which wire to tap for the Amber lighting on the switchbacks.

Any help or point in the right direction is great help. Thank you!

Glad the g held up against that thing. Surprised it didn't trip the airbags. The conversion will completely transform the car. Gl

The fogs are the lower inner lights on the old headlights. You just need to extend those wires and put the new fog light plug for the new bumper's fogs. Dunno about the rest of that.

I'm a little surprised myself, but glad it didn't or I wouldn't have my G anymore.

Thank you for the help! So basically, I can just splice a new plug into the existing fog/blinker plug on the new (G37) headlight I received? I made a new plug out of the old fog light harness from my damaged headlights, and extended the wiring. Will that suffice?

Yea pretty much. I believe the new headlights need a different plug type, so you'll need to get that also.

Just a little update:

Car is in the shop for paint. Hoping to be able to put her back together tomorrow.

Finally got my Morimoto XSB 3.0 Switchback Halos in today and installed. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I will say that this install is not for the faint of heart - and I used to build custom headlights for Tahoe's and Silverado's. Oh well, at least she's done and you guys can take a look!

The halos will be wired to a switch and turn signals so all 4 rings will flash amber when I hit the turn signal, otherwise always white and I can turn it off whenever!

For those of you who care, I am about 95% done with the conversion. Waiting on my projector fog lights to come in and figure out what's going on with the gap between the hood and bumper cover on the passenger side. It's almost as if the new fender is "longer" and causing the passenger side of the vehicle to be pushed out further than the driver side.

Also missing a few nuts and bolts here and there - would the stealership be the best place to go pick some up, quick?
