Any NYers getting away at NYS inspection with tints?

gotta get my inspection done by 4/30 and the dealer already told me it won't pass inspection with tints. I believe i have 35% tints all around. Should i look for other shops and try my luck or just remove them? has anyone got any luck finding the "right" place to get the inspection done without removing tints?

Search on her for user Rochester's build thread, he detailed having to remove his tints to pass under the new law.

Looks like you can't pass with anything greater than 70% (Factory is about 75%) in NY on the side glass (rear glass doesn't matter) so you'll have to remove it.

lol, I was wondering about it myself. Apparently we have a similar law that just became effective, but it only applies to cars built after 2016/2017 ...I guess thats the only way to enforce over here cause we don't have annual inspections (except for emissions)

I live in CNY too. I want to put tints on mine so bad but I'm afraid I will get pulled over like my previous car. What you guys do if you got tinted window tickets? Remove the tints so you won't pay the fine?

When I read Hashim's post about factory being 75% I thought there's no way that could be right. After some digging, it absolutely is. I figured I'd drop a link here to save anyone else the search.

I submitted for a medical exempt permit. I have very light eyes. When i drive during the day with prescribed sunglasses, will still receive headaches and migraines from the sunlight.
