HFC cause P0420 (SES)?

What's up fellow G's, hope everyone is doing well.
I had a really quick question concerning the SES (Service engine soon) light on our cars. Mine just turned on randomly while cruising on the highway to get gas. Went to my mechanic and he pulled the code P0420, which is a bad catalytic converter on the passenger side (I think upon further research). Now , is this just my car telling me that too many fumes are being released from my exhaust therefore thinking that one of my cats is broken, when in reality I just have z1 HFC ?

And if that's the case, should I just restart the ECU ? Someone mentioned in another thread when I was searching that if I reset it and it comes back right away, that's when I should be concerned. If it doesn't come back, prob nothing to worry about. I also read that it could be my o2 sensors but I also read you get a different code for those while p0420 and p0430 indicate the actual driver / passenger side cats.

Last question is would be, does our car have a CEL or is our CEL light THE SES?

Exhaust setup: Ark Grip paired with Z1 HFC

THANKS

Ses=cel=hfc.
It happens.
Reset and forget it. It may or may not come back down the road. Repeat above. If it happens frequently then get a cel fix or it may indeed be bad.

^+1 I had this code pop up a few months ago when the temp was below zero. I reset it and it hasn't come back. BTW I am running Berk HFCs.
