The maf is bad or dirty will that make my car break up when I'm accelerating

 

the maf is a sensor that sends air volume and temp reading back to the ecu for fuel regulation purposes. as far as the car breaking apart when accelerating i highly doubt it. p0102 will probably cause the engine to run lean. you may have dirty thermistor filament or perhaps a restriction in the air filter housing.
