Back Up Camera

I tried searching before. However, I may be blind.

As some of you are experiencing, winter is upon us. Has anyone found a trick to keep their back-up cameras clean without having to wipe it off every time?

I have solved this problem. But my solution will require airplane tickets and a moving van.

Haha! that's the long term plan. in 6 years I don't want to have to deal with -20 to -45-celsius weather.

Was more looking for a temporary solution :-P

Thinking outside the box here... Since we get a fair amount of snow here too...

You could put tear-offs on the camera, run some fishing line from the tear offs through the window... and pull em off when you need them.

Of course... the practical matter would be finding the right line to pull...

Seriously though... I just spit on my thumb and wipe it when i'm walking up to the car. Almost a habit in the winter. It is what it is...

Use the mirrors and/or sonar.

I use the backup camera only to gauge how close I am to some object behind. Sonar would work too.

Sonar gets filled with snow and ice. Usually spend at least part of winter with sensors turned off.
