hi all , im bored at work right now and i just wanted to write a few things about my car.. not looking for much specific feedback but if at least 1 person feels the same way , please let me know lol. ( Also this isnt a college essay or anything so please disregard my disregard for proper grammer at times)

i got my 2010 G37x sedan black on black , premium and tech package (?) strait from the stealership used with 65k back in march. at 80k now ( multiple trips from Boston to NJ/NY area ) ive realized alot about this vehicle. ive owned only 2 cars before this , 96 civic sedan DX ( ebay coils and all ) and 2000 accord ex . so obviously this is my best yet.

since i got the car i cant stop flooring the damn thing , and i dont know if its just wishful thinking or has anyone ever been on the highway on D and threw it in DS and just felt the car kinda adjust itself into what seems like an alter ego ? like before you even gas it .. i swear i can feel the suspension adjust and the thing just launches .. its not a sports model , and the thing just handles like a dream. i understand that its Sport mode but on other cars i get No feeling of change between D/DS so idk ... but im in 100% control 100% of the time like its almost too perfect . i also have a Snow button which is useful in New England winters and im happy lol . the car has actually been my realistic dream car for years now .. (Porsche GT4 RS when i hit the lotto) its the 1st car worthy of a name ( Alana ) and im actually nervous about any future cars . since i bought this i now HATE my girlfriends 2010 tsx . its slow , handling sucks ( i dont like FWD anymore ), the seats are uncomfortable , takes way too long for the heat to kick in in the winter , its unacceptable IMO although the sound system is 10x better. my only options for upgrade is Q50 , GTR , or something german .

On the other hand i dont appreciate the fact i cant put sun glasses in their dedicated compartment because all the noise it makes , in the winter the cracking and popping noises ( that my girls tsx doesn't get ) are annoying as hell , worst of all i feel like the 7AT just overworks itself .. during the first few weeks i found myself in traffic and there was a LOT of unnecessary shifting which got more and more harsh until the thing started bucking Violently during shifts . it happend a total of 3 times before i realized it was all of the shifts during traffic that caused it . since then i avoid traffic , when i cant i put it in DS mode and try to keep a steady speed in 2nd/3rd gear . it hasn't happend since then , but i was scared as hell for a few. my 2 previous hondas were MT so im used to doing the shifting myself .. also this Bose " premium " system is simply mediocre at best .. Does anyone else seem to get challenged to race by bmws and audis almost Daily ? also idk if its just my city but i see a LOT more females than males in this car including G35s . last , i cant tell if the gas mileage is really that bad or its the sound of the exaust causing me to gas it and resulting in lower gas mileage ...

All in all im deeply in love with the car . i have no plans to get rid of it . its obviously way more expensive to maintain than an old honda but its worth it. its perfect other than mentioned above .. if you actually read this , no matter your opinion i want to thank you and sorry if this isnt an appropriate place for a rant ( more like a general opinion at this point ) and yes i realize i overuse parentheses .

Anyway, glad to hear that you're enjoying the G for the most part. As for the transmission, you should be able to get the trans software reprogrammed at the dealer. Most people report much smoother shifting after the update. Costs about 1 hour of labor at the dealer, unfortunately, if you're out of warranty.

 

thanks for that link , i now have enough entertainment for the rest of my day . and i saw the post on the trans reprogramming ill deff bring it up when my next oil change is due . its been fine since july-ish tho.

 

Lol, i used to have a 2010 TSX. I actually liked the seats better in that honestly. I agree though, its slow as hell. And the sunglasses holder in the G is stupid.

 

I hear you on the interior creaks and rattles. I heard virtually nothing all summer, then it gets cold and suddenly it's noisier than my 1997 Acura CL. SMH

 

I find using the front defroster helps with the dashboard creaks in cold weather. It warms not only the glass but the plastic too, allows it to relax.
