Anyone know how much a typical exhaust shop would charge to just swap out the resonators? I have no idea what range to expect and don't want to end up agreeing to a price that's too much.

Think about questions like this in terms of hourly charges. Expect a minimum one hour and go up from there.

Call around, my local shop told me $40 for the install, but then again I have a great rapport with this shop for years now.

i recall roughly 1 hour shop fee for the job. included cutting the piping and splicing in the new resonators. then they did some minor touch up work on the welds based on my inspection. that was no charge as 'warranty work' on the same day as the install. i didn't leave until the job was done right.

did you get vibrant 1790s? thats what I got and will install soon along with tanabe axleback.

as far as pricing I've been quoted 30 for one weld, 2 resonators = 60 bucks approx i think.

60-90 is a safe range I think I paid in my previous fx

This is kind of interesting. The way I'm interpreting this thread, Fat Sac is adding these resonators to a full Stillen Cat+CB exhaust in order to modulate rasp, and I think zonnie is using these to replace the OEM resonators to add volume to the OEM piping when matched with a Tanabe axle-back.

Exhaust mods are fun.

Please do a before and after video on this. Or at least a detailed review as I have Tanabes and am still thinking about doing this as well. Im pretty sure guy from norcal also did this and said it added volume but I have yet to hear a clear sound clip of the difference.

You got it John, Im Stillen Gen3 CAI + Stillen HFC + Stillen CBE and trying to eliminate the rasp from the 25-3500k range. Fun part will be trying to find a location for these to be installed at

Stillen is 2.25" for thise that care.

Im looking at getting the 12" 2.25 Vibrant Resonators and want to hear from any of you who have personally installed them in the past or have heard cars with them. Whats your feedback on them? Issues? Did it eliminate rasp? Increase/decrease exhuast note?

Hey man I understand this is very old but I'm having the exact same problem u experienced and Im curious If you ever got those vibrant resonators installed to your stillen cat back and did it make a difference My setup is Berk non res tp, z1 Y pipe and Stillen catback I'm considering the vibrant ultra quiets

I have a full custom exhaust using strictly Vibrant materials. It sounds great and the resonators definitely do their jobs, however I think the largest reason I have no rasp is due to keeping the stock cats. Once those are gone, even for HFCs, it seems like there's always a bit of rasp left over.

Jesus old is right…..I don’t recall if I ever got them installed. I believe I went from STILLEN HFC to FI RHFC and then got rid of the STILLEN cbe and went full GTHaus. I do know that those resonators would do the trick and you can have them installed after the mid pipe before the mufflers
