Came across this on Infiniti's website. It's official, the G sedan has finally stopped production. It's been one heck of a production run for our V36s.
Emotionally speaking, this day happened at the end of the 2013 model year, when Infiniti decided they no longer cared about 6MT customers.
Still... end of an era.
Could not agree more which is why when I had the chance to pick up the last year I jumped at it. And I'll be devastated if something ever happens to it.
At least I'll never see a newer version of the G and wish I had that version. Very thin silver lining. And Rochester hit it on the nose (as always) once infiniti did away with the 6mt, that was it...
U guys are telling me the q50 was not the replacement for the g sedan?
It could have been. However, by dropping the Sport Package, rebranding the G as the Q40, and selling them side-by-side for two years, it kind of shuts down that theory.
Stupid Q naming structure. Good riddance to Johan de Nysschen, and thanks for nothing.
the q50 sport is not as good as the g37 sedan sport? id think its be very similar
In most every way that matters, they're very similar. If anything, the Q50S is somewhat a softer ride, and handles like pooh unless you put the car into "sport mode", after which it drives quite well. Also, your left foot cramps up after a while from neglect. Certainly a more luxurious interior, though... if that's your thing.
Another thing it's got going for it is the AWD Sport is a more worthy car out of the box than the G37xS.
