Today... I actually drove it today.

Road salt be damned, it's been over a week, I had opportunity and need, so I took the car. Love driving this car, regardless of quirks. There's always a quirk. Mine is a rear suspension squeak.

Over a week in the cold, and it gave me a pause trying to start the car. Just when cold... because it started fine numerous times otherwise. And that was the first time ever that it balked for a moment. Not the battery, that's OEM and only two years old. Maybe the starter, or the cold, or both... or me just being sensitive, looking for problems.

My OEM battery that was put in last year has gone to poop completely. Forgot how spiffy the starting sound of the car is with a good battery. Went for an AGM battery this time.

Today, I scheduled an appraisal for the below since a big ol’ Ram 2500 decided to shake hands with my car in the parking lot:

Definitely frustrating, but will try to get insurance to let me swap for the sport bumper or pay the difference. Other guys insurance should be covering it though.

Also, did that drain and refill on the rear differential. Pretty nasty gunk on the drain plug. Very easy job, luckily.

Va Trip

My day consisted of taking a trip to Lynchburg,Va to meet up with a awesome dude (NoahZ) to purchase the OEM sport chin spoiler he had listed for sale here. Done the deed, came back home to start the install.

Initial test fit (Nice but needed that ebony touch)

So it went from Silver to Obsidian and then installed in about two hours time. (Don't worry guys, I'm on the prowl for a Midnight Grill).

Thanks again NoahZ for the great quality item sir. Have a great rest of your evening folks.

From winter setup to summer setup...also pulled a noob move and stripped the hell out of one of the lugs. Didn't realize the stock lugs weren't 13/16th...

Yes, yes I know we're at 4x4 heights now. I'm hopefully looking to address that this year.

I think pretty much everything on our cars is metric. I don’t even grab fractional sizes anymore

Chicago in mid-March... You'll probably be OK, but 2-3 more weeks might be more prudent. It's not just snow, you also have to pay attention to temperatures. Summer performance tires perform poorly once you get below 45°, regardless of snow. And it's not just a safety consideration, you can really damage summer tires if you drive them in cold temps. Good luck.

Rochester, agreed. I've been watching the temps yo-yo like crazy. Yesterday was 55, today 46, tomorrow 36, but then consistently 50's by next week. For the cold days, the wifey's car (qx60) takes precedence.

Love the detail in the article.
