Figured I'd ask in here since the track section is dead....
Charlotte Speedway is having an open track event around their oval and through the infield (the "Roval"). What should I do to prep my RWD 7AT S? I've been meaning to get new front rotors (I changed them immediately after getting the car not even a year ago and they got hot spots pretty much right away- Centric Blanks I think), but other than that IDK. I'm thinking transmission and brake flush. Just did an oil change so I will just top that off. Happy with my pads (Hawk HPS I think). Def gonna give my suspension a look over. Any other ideas?

Doesn't help that Infiniti just slaps that corrosion prevention stuff on there using an elephant holding a brush in it's trunk. I scraped most of mine off where I could, buffed the areas a bit, and reapplied the corrosion stuff very neatly, taping off the clean areas. Its not perfect, but its 100 per cent better than before.

Did you find a product that was effective, but didn’t risk causing damage to other areas lol? Any strong degreasers really need to be rinsed off... but I’m not to excited about taping off all the electrical

I didnt go crazy. Just used CLR and a plastic scraper. Only did the really visible areas around the strut towers. Still have some places I want to tackle at some point.

Lamest excuse I ever saw for posting in the wrong forum.
There's little recent activity because it's winter! I posted three weeks ago after my last track event in "The G Makes a Great Track Car" thread.
From personal experience, the 7AT is a reluctant partner at the track. First session it behaves but after that it will upshift unbidden while in manual mode, and will sometimes ignore downshift commands. I presume this is due to hot fluid. That said, my car has never gone into limp mode due to heat. An additional trans cooler can only help.

I'm only going once, I prefer to do track days on motorcycles so I don't want to do any mods. A transmission cooler would be nice, but I feel like some fresh fluid should be enough for one night. I think I might only get like 1-3 sessions.

Twice a year (or so) I'll cover the engine bay with Simple Green and hose it off.
