Not lowered currently, but will probably get a good set of coils soon. Also Recommendations on a tire size(s) that will work well with awd with those 20s?

Hate making a newbie post after I’ve tore into this car inside and out over 4yrs, but I know nothing about wheels/tires lol. I know my fitment in 18s n 19s, but recently considered 20s and a few days later a nice set pops up locally. Advice is appreciated, thanks.
20s wil give you a very limited choice of tire sizes. More than likely will be 35 as far as height goes. Lower than 35 can be loud/annoying on 20s and very likely wont look good unless it's dropped. Along with possibly 10lbs+

Research tire sizes and affordability on your end, fitting wheels on a G can be expensive once you lower you'll will start wearing forcing you to look into suspension parts.

In my opinion, 20s can be problematic on AWD as it requires a decent drop for it to look good, something the front axles dont like.

This is what my X looked like on 20's not lowered with tiny brakes. 255/35/20 tires on 20x8.5 wheels. It's not a very good look, and I will tell ya, they ride rough. You feel every tiny bump in your lower back. It took a bunch of mods to get it to look good after, but the ride quality only goes down. Also, low profile tires are notorious for losing air when you hit something really hard. I had to chase the city to replace a tire on 2 separate occasions when I hit a pothole.

This is what it looked like after lowering, 15mm spacers, camber and toe arms, a set of new shocks to replace the blown ones, and an alignment. Even after I got it looking nice, I went with 18"s. Much more comfy, and don't have to worry about blowing a tire going over a speedbump.

Yeah I know they will look off without being lowered, but I was already planning to spend ~$1.5k on suspension. These will save me another $1-1.5k compared to the wheels I was planning on so that can be worked into the budget as well. What are you lowered on in that bottom pic? Your car looks great.

I think I’m still going for them. If the ride becomes too much I’ll just put them on my rogue and get 19s. I just really like how the sedans look on 19s or 20s.

The cars 10yrs old as well (72k) so I figured some suspension components are wearing down anyways, might as well replace it correctly while everything is still working so I can return to stock whenever the time comes and recoup some costs. Appreciate the input.

Those are the kind of wheels you want when you want someone to see your brakes.

Yeah, the stock brakes leave much to be desired.

There's a flip side to that comment, where you want your brakes to be the hero, and the wheel design hides them from view.

It's always something, hexotic.

I was looking through my phone, pulled a few similar angles out side-by-side. It's pretty dramatic. How the wheels affect the perception of brake size.

I drove it today. Wow.

But it's been weeks, it's clean as fck, I've got this fantastic brake upgrade, and I've been jonesing to drive the car... just no where to go.

So I drove way, way out of my way downtown for curb-side pickup of some bubble tea.

That's what I did to my sedan today. I drove the p1ss out of it.

Probably should have spent more time detailing the calipers. Next time.

FYI

The carquest axle listed for the passenger side on the g35x does not fit. Ask me how I know 😒

Oem on the left right. Clear differences. Had to fight to remove it from the diff after it popped out twice while driving. Smh
